We go here almost every weekend. It has the best atmosphere and the owner Maddie is so friendly. The food is incredible, and unique. I am picky with omelettes, and theirs are delicious!

5 stars but be prepared to wait! Top rate coffee and food. The kitchen works at its own pace, but there are signs to let customers know. I didn’t know this just from looking online however.

I don’t know how I could like this place better, the owner, the staff, the food and the atmosphere are all top notch. It all comes with a lesson in local lore and the food explained in detail. Love love love
The whole place was amazing. Maddie is wonderful, and is one of the best owners/servers I've ever met. She was so sweet and friendly, and great with the kids. The food came out super quick, and was delicious. I had such a hard time picking what to eat, it all sounded so good (I finally decided on the PB&J stuffed french toast...heaven) . I loved the history of the place, and the coziness of being inside. We are only in Connecticut 1-2 times a year, but we put this on our list of places to go while there.

One of my all time favorite places, whenever I visit the area I have to stop by!! I recommend just about everything but most of all anything with eggs
I decided to stop here on my way to Niantic. The place is small. It was very hot that day and they did not have air conditioning. But the food was excellent, and the service was as well. The staff was delightful and attentive and their neighbor Bobby was good company. I would definitely go back again.

The Whistle Stop Cafe in Deep River Connecticut is absolutely amazing!!! The food is delicious, the atmosphere is so peaceful and welcoming and Maddie, the owner, is an absolute delight!! ! I cannot say enough positive about this lovely Cafe!!! I highly recommend this Cafe!!! Thank you so much, Maddie, for your hospitality and for my birthday treat!!! The cutest breakfast spot! Food was amazing. Love the variety & creative options! My husband & I each got a Benedict then shared a stuff French toast. We live an hour away & stopped on our way back from the shore! Service was fast & our waitress was so kind & personable. We will 100% make the drive back sooner than later.
