Visited this cafe for breakfast during a trip through CT. On the morning we visited they were extremely short staffed due to staff having to call out, leaving only one woman (I think Madeline?) to prep and cook all of the meals for the entire full house of guests. I am made of much softer stuff than she because I would have walked out crying, but she entered some kind of wonder woman culinary flow state and rode the chaos. It was fascinating to watch, and the food was absolutely delicious. We got the Glasgow omelet and the berry stuffed French toast. If we're ever back in this area we will definitely come back for another breakfast!

We’ve been coming to the Whistle Stop Cafe for years while visiting a family member who just passed away. We will definitely come back again when in the area. Maddy has continued a family tradition and creates a delicious, warm, fun place. We appreciate that she offers the old standards and creative adaptations to meet current tastes. Try the Neptune omelette or the garden lovers Eggs Benedict. And don’t miss the cranberry walnut toast. And Ralph will keep your coffee or tea cup filled.

What a wonderful find! My husband and I had a wonderful meal. I had the Austin eggs Benedict and my husband had the southern discomfort omelet, we highly recommend both. Everything is fresh, made to order and delicious. You will not be disappointed.

There are few breakfast spots like this left. Fresh hollandaise made to order with different Benedict choices, crispy home fries that are seasoned- as soon as you encounter the chef who apparently has taken over the family business, you know she’s in control, and producing excellent food. Young staff are, well, young, but it doesn’t really affect the experience, they’re all sweet.

Stopped here during a hiking trip and fell in love with this cozy, family-run spot! The very last page of their menu is all vegan options (three breakfast and three lunch entrees). My partner and I both got the Spicy Tofu Scramble, which was delicious! Served with home fries underneath. Also our waiter asked if we wanted it prepared separate from where they prep/cook the meat, which was considerate. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area!
The food is excellent. The price is great, but remember cash only.

This is a quaint little place with a great family story. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. The home fries were so crispy and the homemade jam at the table was soo good. What a perfect start to the day having stopped here.

Stumbled upon this gem on a visit through Connecticut with my mom. The place was so quant and cozy. The food was incredible and you could tell was very fresh. The coffee was awesome and all the wait staff seemed to work so well together. If I lived close, they would know my order by heart. Will definitely be shopping in again if I’m passing through!

Highly recommend this cute little spot! Despite being short-staffed, the lovely owner took such good care of us, and the service was fantastic. The food was delicious as well! Their iced coffee, black coffee, berry almond pancake, and breakfast bowl didn't disappoint. There's also outdoor seating facing the water and trees. What more could you ask for? Definitely check it out if you're in the area!

My server James was really helpful and attentive. We had lots of conversations about things such as how the food is made and deja vu experiences. 10/10 service
