Fresh hollandaise made to order with different Benedict choices, crispy home fries that are seasoned- as soon as you encounter the chef who apparently has taken over the family business, you know she’s in control, and producing excellent food. Young staff are, well, young, but it doesn’t really affect the experience, they’re all sweet.

This is a quaint little place with a great family story. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. The home fries were so crispy and the homemade jam at the table was soo good. What a perfect start to the day having stopped here.

Stumbled upon this gem on a visit through Connecticut with my mom. The place was so quant and cozy. The food was incredible and you could tell was very fresh. The coffee was awesome and all the wait staff seemed to work so well together. If I lived close, they would know my order by heart. Will definitely be shopping in again if I’m passing through!

Highly recommend this cute little spot! Despite being short-staffed, the lovely owner took such good care of us, and the service was fantastic. The food was delicious as well! Their iced coffee, black coffee, berry almond pancake, and breakfast bowl didn't disappoint. There's also outdoor seating facing the water and trees. What more could you ask for? Definitely check it out if you're in the area!

Taco salad was great. I love stopping in during the week.
Food took 45+ minutes to come out, BOTH sausage egg and cheeses were burnt, excessively salted, and the whites on the eggs were not cooked. The home fries that came out were burnt and not salted at all. My berry stuffed French toast was okay, not much to say about it, but it wasn’t bad. Aside from the food, the coffee was bad, and my green tea tasted like dirty water and porcelain regret (the cups have their own flavor). The food was so bad we went to Dunkin to get food that was mediocre at best after. We’ve had good food there, but this seems to be a trend. Overall, please, do not come here.

Went there for lunch. Took the server forever to come take our order. He the proceeded to need the order repeated several times. The menu on the website was outdated and they didn't have half of the stuff anymore. Sat there for over 45 minutes and never got our food. The people next to us who showed up after us got their food before us. Server also tried to give the group next to us their check before they even got their food. So all in all after an hour we left with no food and we're very disappointed.

My sister, SIL and I stopped here on our way home from a visit to Essex, CT. What a gem! The food, the employees and the general quirky atmosphere were a delight. We were so glad we found the Whistle Stop Cafe! Great breakfast!!

Came here for the first time today. I've been wanting to try for awhile. Amazing place. Love the menu! So many different things to choose from. Tons of veggie options. I had a veggie melt with broccoli, eggplant, onions, sundried tomatoes and cheese. It was amazing! If you haven't been, great eats for breakfast and lunch!
