Really nice place to sit outside and have breakfast in the morning. Owner and waitress were very attensive and wonderful. The omelette was delicious and the rye bread was well toasted.

As parents this was a great stop. The owner, Maddie was great with our kids and had chalk to draw out on the patio. The food was amazing. Do yourself a favor and get one of their Eggs Benedict’s. Wow.

We stopped here for a quick breakfast the other day, just before they close for the winter months. I'm the owner who was working the grill. The food menu items were delicious and we were not disappointed, all in all we had a great meal here and would highly recommend anybody stop on their way down 154.

Wonderfully homespun, family-owned spot for generations. Actually when I was looking to buy in Deep River it was the first things my Dad brought up... "Deep River...there's a great breakfast place I took your mom to once, years ago...." :-) I have since moved away but think very fondly on all past Whistle Stop experiences and expect more in the future!

Tiny little roadside restaurant. Six tables and a diner bar top. Apparently this is a historic, family owned, and operated establishment. We met Maddie, who is the current owner and the granddaughter of the original owners. Very friendly, great service, fantastic food. Close quarters, cozy, no frills, yummmmmyyyy!

A hidden local diner. A small cafe that has been here for awhile. My grandpa and grandma went there and recommended me to try it out. It has one of a kind experience with wonderful brunch meals.

The owner is exceptional. She is carrying on a family legacy and she puts her all into it. The food was delicious and the perfect spot for me and my three young children. This is a gem and you would be sorry not to go.

This place seems to be the only breakfast place that is in the entire town (judging by the number of people coming there). I was not familiar with the area and the Yelp reviews let me here while we were on a day trip exploring this part of the state, on the way towards Gillette castle. It's a small place with a few tables indoor and 2-3 tables on the back. There's no reservation system. We got seated right away. But I have seen others coming after us taking 15-20 minutes to get seated. The employees were friendly and took our order right away. It took almost a good 45 minutes (if not more) for the food to arrive. We think they cook almost everything from scratch and they have only a limited space to cook so one can expect to have a little bit of wait time. We liked the breakfast and tea/coffees. Pictures are of my vegan tofu scramble and home fries and almond milk tea. Note: I loved reading about the history of this place.

So glad we stumbled upon this place! It was busy, so we sat outside, but we were well taken care of. The owner (I'm assuming) was around to fill our coffees constantly, as well as to provide tons of history about the surrounding area! Our food was great, and the perfect amount to get filled up but not stuffed. The place doesn't take cards, but does take venmo, so that's something to keep in mind, but definitely make the trip and have a nice breakfast by the river, if you're in the area!

You know the type of cafe/ restaurant that only exists in the movies? It has the kind and warm owner, unique regulars, and unbelievably delicious food tucked into a small cafe in a charming small town? That’s whistle stop cafe. Everything about my experience was charming, memorable, and DELICIOUS. Whistle stop has tons of options for everyone, including me (a vegan) and my aunt (gluten free). Not only do they have vegan and gluten free options, but the owner has made sure they take both vegan and gluten free seriously. She does everything in her power to limit cross contamination and is transparent about everything. AND she makes sure the vegan and/ or gluten free options are delicious. I had one of the best tofu scrambles I’ve ever had and don’t even get me started on the potatoes! You haven’t had potatoes until you’ve had them at whistle stop. Overall, whistle stop is a must and every person who drives through town should stop and experience it.Oh!! To my fellow vegans- Get the vegan hot chocolate!
