Place is more of a take out type of place. Pretty small inside. People are always very nice behind the counter. Usually pretty busy for lunch. Food is great. Always fresh never any issues. Pizza is delicious, garlic knots are amazing for 4 bucks and the fried mozzarella squares are always a hit. Place is the best in Durham

The pizza here is pretty good, and the owner is super nice. However the girls who answer the phone are the rudest people you can imagine. I thought maybe it was one person but I swear everyone who answers the phone has terrible customer service skills. If they weren't the only place in Durham then we would never go back here but if you want pizza and don't want to travel out of town, you deal with carmines. I wish the owner would hire counter staff that are as warm and friendly as he is.

So on my way home and I’m starving but I’m in Durham and it’s almost 9:00 pm so I pull into Carmines and the guys r outside. I walk up and they say r u picking up and I’m like no I wanted one of the frozen pies in the case. Sorry register is all closed.
Ok thanks anyway I said and one of the chefs hands me one of his pies and says enjoy.

Very, very good pizza. When it is. Sometimes there's a consistency problem. I attribute it to a young, high school age workforce that presumably may be high turn over. Having said that, Carmines is a wonderful community partner who deserves your business! The food really is fantastic!

Instantly felt so welcomed!!! First time there and seriously the best chicken cutlet panini ever. Heath is great and the sweet girl at the counter!! So happy to choose this place as my first time eating in Durham!! I'll be back to try the pizza next!!!!
