Not really quite as bad as one would imagine. For a gas station fried chicken place it was fine. Their chicken sandwiches were exactly like the ones served in my junior high thirty years ago. Almost a walk down memory lane :)
First off, the chicken is amazing. I got the three-piece tenders with a fantastic biscuit and a Mexican Coke for $11 and change! It's located in the Durham Mini Mart/Exxon, so you won't really see good signage until you're in the gas station parking lot. I'll definitely be back - best deal around and the chicken was amazing.
I stopped at this Krispy Krunchy chicken while I was already here getting gas for my Work vehicle.
There seemed to be a bit of a communication barrier…
I asked what pieces were included in a three-piece versus a four piece and the dude started putting chicken in a box .
I ended up with a wing, a drum, and a thigh. I asked about a fourth piece, but it didn’t appear it would be a breast either, so I said 3 is good.
