We went to island creamery for the first time since the switch from Chatham creamery. The atmosphere was great. We really liked the new decorations and tables. The service was great, the girl who served us was super sweet and helpful. The service was quick. We got the banana pudding ice cream and cookie dough. Both were good. The sizes are large! We got smalls and they were more than enough, I’d say go with the kids size. We didn’t use the drive through but I think that’s a great feature for heading back home or to enjoy the lake. There is also some outside seating.

Went and dropped $30 for my 2 kids. The new owner didn't like my 10 lb dog in my arm and kicked me out. I can guarantee you my 7 and 8 year old are (salmon river, the lake, my backyard full of chickens) WAY Dirtier than my little chihuahua. He's a certified service dog. Completely trained and didn't make a peep. I didn't even put him down, he was in my arms the whole time. I'm so frustrated.

I was very excited to try Island vibes as the decor looked great and I saw on the menu they had my favorite ice cream “Mississippi Mud” which is meant to be coffee ice cream with a fudge swirl and oreo crumbs. I also got whipped cream, hot fudge, oreos and a cherry as toppings. The ice cream itself had no flavor whatsoever, and tasted like watered down chocolate. The so called “oreos” were either stale or off brand because they did not taste good. The cherry put on top was small and squished in half. I couldn’t even finish the ice cream as it just didn’t taste right. The workers seem overwhelmed and undertrained, and the spoons the give you are so cheap they basically break when you try to scoop up your ice cream. Overall, not the best experience.

They’ve started doing coffee now too. I’ve met a friend for coffee a few times, we’ve always been the only ones in there. The staff is typically high school kids, which is fine, we had excellent service from a young man this summer. That being said, they closed for the season in September which is really a shame.
Kid-friendliness: Over the summer, we were waited on by the kindest young man. He spent several minutes talking with my overly chatty son.
