Fantastic restaurant in the Village Center of East Hampton. Great drinks and great food. Very close to the Airline Trail, so a perfect location for a quick break from a bike ride. Highly recommend! What a great addition to the East Hampton Village Center!

Parking: Municipal lot serving the village center area only steps from the restaurant.

Went there last night, our server was awesome, very attentive and kind, the bartender and server were clearly working as a team which I love to see! The food was the BEST Mexican food in the area. If you go you need to get the chicken empanadas you can even do them on happpy hour we ordered two orders of them they were so good!! The queso on the nachos was so light and perfect it was amazing. I forgot to take a before picture but soo worth it. Then the guava cheesecake with the whipped cream!!! Soooo goood!!!

I went last night and had the BEST experience! The waitress was so kind, attentive and friendly. The bartender and waitress were clearly working as a team which is always awesome to see. I had the nachos (with birria), chips and salsa, Mexican slaw taco, and the empanadas. The empanadas were so good we ordered two orders of them and I have not stopped thinking about them since. We ended the night with the guava cheesecake which was absolutely amazing and I’ve never had anything like it. I am obsessed with Mexican and this is the absolute best Mexican you can get within a 30 minute range at LEAST!!

Mateos has a warm amd friendly atmosphere. We've enjoyed everything we ordered. I'm a vegan, and they are so accommodating to our diets. TY Matt and Jessica for bringing Mateos into the Village Center.

Was very hopeful about this place but we ended up being pretty disappointed. We each tried several different tacos but nothing really blew me away and the shells weren't heated at all. The cilantro rice was not very flavorful. The swordfish tacos were really gamey and didn't have much to balance out that flavor. The plates and glasses were very smudged and greasy. Our appetizer came out at the same time as our meal so there wasn't much room on the table.
The overall lighting and ambiance wasn't great.
I have enjoyed other food from Jessica's and Burger Heaven very much but I didn't have that experience here. I'm all for small businesses over chains but it seems like the owners are taking on too many endeavors and the quality is suffering.

I’m 5 months pregnant and was craving some good gringo tacos. I googled places and this place popped up. I’m so glad it did. We drove 45 minutes to get there and it was worth every minute. The tacos were amazing, all the appetizers we had were delicious and the smores pizza dessert was literal perfection. The only suggestion I have is that the food came out with extra plates. The plates themselves are a little small (not the food. The food has exceptional serving sizes, but a little too big for the plate.) Our server was also amazing. I think her name was Kara. She was super friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. I also really liked the ambiance. As a self proclaimed hipster, I highly enjoy darker settings and it was perfect for my love for the dive bar feel. (Definitely not a dive bar though) After we left we stumbled across some live music next door…..is East Hampton back?
