My sister Grace and I were surprised to see the bakery open today and jumped at the chance to go in, not expecting to find a new owner Jackie to be there with extended hours. We purchased and split a seasoned loaf of bread, haven't tried it yet, but did try a piece of the herb/ cheese focaccia I bought as it came out of the oven. We really enjoyed our first visit to Belltown Bakery! The owners were so friendly and eager to tell their story. We were able to try the blueberry and chocolate chip scones and they were delicious! We look forward to our next visit when we are able to try their sour dough loaves.
We stumbled into this place by happenstance since our original destination was closed. The owner was unbelievably sweet and had dozens of options to choose from. We were able to get her focaccia straight out of the oven and it was some of the best bread I’ve ever had in my life. The caramelized onions and roasted garlic were perfect. We will definitely be making our way back to the Black Walnut soon.
