Old school deli counter setup for a burger and grinder joint. The staff really work well together and keep on top of the ordering and customer service. Had a meatball grinder with onion rings, then later a fish sandwich and fries. The onion rings were good, but could have used more seasoning. Everything else was fantastic. The place has bar seating inside, or picnic tables under cover outside. Come hungry, be patient, and tip the hardworking staff!

Seating consists of stools facing the windows with a ledge to eat on. No booth or tables. Very pleasant staff. Food was good, fair prices. Outdoor picnic tables with canopy to eat outside. Definitely worth a return visit. Food is hot and fresh. Free soda refills which is good.

I’ve lived in East Hartford since 1998 & I went to Augie & Rays for the 1st time this month (Aug 2025) Now..my husband & I are foodies so don’t get upset with this review. The first thing we ordered was the Turkey Grinder & all the fixings..delicious..so delicious that I’ll never go to Subway again..but here’s the 2nd half of my review: Today (8/27/25) I wanted to try out their breakfast..it was a complete fail. Bread sopping with butter, spicy sausage that I thought it was pepperoni & the potatoes weren’t good. Remember I’m a foodie which means I go around to several restaurants & taste & rate everything. So I’m thinking, maybe it’s great for most men to eat the breakfast especially if they’re single or can’t / won’t cook but I wouldn’t recommend the breakfast. I will go back to try other items on the menu. The men who work there are super nice though & I do like the long extended counter with the padded seats.
