Used to be the best pizza in the state. Been about four to five years since they changed the recipie. Sauce is not sweet like it once was and cheese is different. Now one of the worst pizzas around. Tried it again tonight hoping they reverted back to the old recipe I grew up on for 35+ years but nope.
My friend and I were there for lunch but asked for the dinner size Chicken Parm and Veal Parm meals. What we received was only one very thin piece of chicken and veal and a extremely small salad. Also, The price for the chicken dinner on the internet menu says $18.25 but was charged $20.25 and nothing was said to us about any extra charge. There was maybe a quarter pound of penne and maybe, at best one third of a chicken breast, and the salads were so small I don't even know what size to call them. VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTED. I came from Bristol and my friend came from Springfield MA. What a waste of time, gas and money.
To the owner after your rude remarks, I think you have it wrong. It should have been BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION that there was an extra charge of $2.00 for your skimpy 25 cents worth of extra sauce, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. You are THE ONLY restaurant I've been too that even charges for a little extra sauce. HOW CHEAP CAN YOU BE?? And THE ONLY italian restaurant that serves ONE LITTLE ROLL instead of a decent portion of ITALIAN BREAD, (a LITTLE ROLL IS NOT BREAD AS YOU CALL IT), and THE ONLY italian restaurant that serves ONLY ONE thin little piece of chicken and such a small portion of pasta. Every other italian restaurant I've been to serves two good size pieces of chicken and about twice as much pasta for their chicken parm and about DOUBLE the size of your so called salad. You say your servings are by weight, MAYBE YOU SHOULD INCREASE YOUR DINNER WEIGHTS. Your regular dinner price of $18.25 for chicken parm is one of the most expensive and THE SMALLEST of dinner meals. Your Veal and Chicken Parm DINNERS WERE SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT AND RIP OFF. You say we should of brought out concerns to your staffs attention BEFORE WE LEFT. Why, would we have gotten another piece of chicken, more pasta, a bigger salad and some italian bread if we had? We wanted to be polite to your staff. And we gave our waitress a decent tip (about 25 percent) for her so so service. SHE should have told me there was a $2.00 charge for the little bit of extra sauce. This experience is too bad. I've always enjoyed your pizza but I GUARANTEE YOU WE WILL NEVER BE BACK after your rude and dissatisfying comments. You don't deserve to be in the restaurant business.

1st timers, stopped in on the way to the airport to go back to Chicago for some lunch.
Im a Sicilian foodie that loves a good meal!
We ordered lasagna and a small pizza.
Both were very well made, hot and tasty. Pizza crust was slightly crunchy and buttery, not oily at all. Sauce was excellent, as was the mushrooms & sausage. Generous amount of high quality cheese also not oily. Bravo.
Id definitely recommend both and come back the next time im in the area.

Garbage food and even worse service especially from the owner who thinks it’s ok to be rude and unprofessional to patrons that complain about the nasty food and service. Look up reviews on google and see for yourself.
This is my go to place! Great food and great service!

Loved Gino’s when it was on the New London Turnpike. But that was many years ago, sadly. The last time I ordered from the East Hartford location, I ordered a large pizza with vegetarian options on half to accommodate dietary needs, and meats on the other half. When we got the pizza home, it was covered with cheese and I couldn’t tell which half was which. (The receipt even says, ‘The toppings are under the cheese’). So I called and asked how to identify which half was the vegetarian half, and I was told, “Oh, they should have identified that. I will speak to them.” No need. We found Sliceworks where the original Gino’s was, and they don’t screw up

This was my husband and my first time going to Gino’s-and we will NEVER go again!! A LARGE CALZONE-spinach, pepperoni and bacon-charged 1.75 for each topping and this was the calzone we just received-and for $20.00+!!!! SO DISAPPOINTED. ? ? ?

This might be the worst pizza I’ve ever had. I wanted just a slice of cheese pizza to go and ended up waiting 20 min (place was empty) and got handed a small tinfoil wrapped slice that looked like someone threw a bowling alley pizza in a toxic waste dump to mutate into what’s seen in the picture attached. No sauce, congealed cheese, and the crust was just cardboard. This is not pizza - disgusting. Also - pretty sure the lady at the counter left my slice sitting out there because she was too busy on her phone.

Update 5/28/24: it has been over one week since I spoke to an owner or someone that advised my refund was processing and constantly being told to delete my review. Not only can you not get your food that people ordered correct, you can’t even process a $12 refund lol never recommending to anyone.
Ordered a “Caesar salad” along with other items. Take a look at the description of their “Caesar” salad and the pic of what I actually received, paid $12 for just chopped lettuce and croutons lol. Was pretty disappointed, oh well. Make your own judgement.

I’ve had their pizza many times but tonight my delivery was so disappointing. Cheese with hamburger and pepperoni. There was no taste to the cheese, hardly any sauce and the cheese was hard to chew. So bummed.

I was visiting from out of state. This is one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. The area is lucky to have Gino’s. I did try to talk the owner into moving to my state.
Moved to the area almost 4 yrs. ago. Was told how good Gino’s is. The service is friendly and quick, the food is always good. We will continue enjoying their food.
