Triple-A Diner Restaurant

We have been coming to this place for years but whoever took over from the original owners is not doing a good job!!!! This place should just close down!!!!

BAD Got ripped off after ordering Togo,....order was wrong and they wouldn't give me a refund and essentially said I lied ( "you didn't order it that way , I would've put it in if you did") It was missing a key item as well. Lousy service, not how to succeed in America. You turned away a returning customer,never to return,over 1 breakfast.

Before my father passed this was his go to spot. I haven't really been there since but was excited to take my daughter when she wanted something sweet. When we arrived we got seated and ordered chicken tenders, a piece of chocolate cake and a soda with refills. The tenders were as hard and Fred Flintstones feet if he got in a high speed chase. They were sent back but the waitress had an obvious attitude. My daughter said the cake was good but when the bill arrived I was shocked. $16 for a piece of cake and a soda!!!!!! I was charged a 20% (dine in fee). The pandemic is over. They didnt even explain that until the bill came. I only had one soda, so of course a wanted my money worth. I politely asked for a to go cup seeing that the soda was $4. The waitress at first refused but then realized I was upset so she gave me the soda. I will never return to this spot. Lots of family memories but unfortunately, I will not be making any new ones.

The food was good and service was nice, but there was NO INDICATION WHATSOEVER they no longer accept credit cards. The only signs posted at the entrance referenced service charges for take-out.
We probably won't bother going back, unless credit cards are back in use. Sorry, but this is 2024.

Wheelchair accessibility: Had good choice of where to seat a large party, including a service dog.

Been coming for 3 decades today was my last. - looks like ghost town packy kid at the counter needs to brighten his tune id say, $5 for a pancake the size of a fist, he said you call me a liar bcuz I made him aware of how it always covered plate in the past. Honestly complete waste !

The food was alright, and the service was adequate, but because of the service charge from credit cards, they only accept cash, and that presented a problem with us attending our district Convocation, and we live in Massachusetts. However, we do understand how those charges affected the bottom line. We wound up getting mostly breakfast meals late at night after service.

I have been eating at this place for over 10 years and the last two or three years the food atmosphere and business and its entirety has gone down
The manager is a Indian man who walks around in his slippers with dry crusty nasty feet and I don’t think people eating should have to look at that I was disgusted! And told him it was nasty of him and unprofessional!
Cash only payment is also a big red flag!!! They are most definitely Scamming!!!!
And I’m sure that’s one of the reasons why The diner is going out of business. The last few times I’ve gone to eat the diners completely empty.

This place seems to me like it’s still recovering from the pandemic. There were handwritten “cash only”signs on the door, and there appeared to be only two staffers which was fine because at 11pm on the night before July 4th we were literally the only customers. Juke boxes not working, bakery case empty. Connecticut really needs 24 hour food options so I hope they are on the upswing here! This could be a real gem of a place if the crowds come back. (I last ate here in 2018 and it was quite busy, even at midnight.) The place is impeccably clean and the food was very good diner staples. Excellent grilled cheese, chicken rice soup, and gyro sandwich platter.

Came in for a couple cups of coffee and water. We got harassed by the waitress over spending a minimum to sit at a table when the entire restaurant was empty, got charged $8 for 2 cups of coffee and never got our water. Don't go to this place unless you want to be cheated out of money and harassed.

I never give a review to a restaurant because I know how it negatively affects one of these, I also work in customer service, but in reality I give the review with the sole intention that they do something for this place, there is nothing to rescue, from the service until the food, we had to ask for napkins, cutlery, 15 after the food had arrived, I understand the waitress because apparently she was the only waitress he had and he had many tables, and this is why I say that there should be more staff to attend, we are paying you! We decided to leave our house to eat and we are paying for a service and we don't even receive anything.
On the other hand, the food is terribly terrible, there is nothing that can be rescued, besides the fact that it is not good food, they bring everything wrong, we ordered a burrito with cheese, they brought it cheese, a hamburger without tomato and they brought it with tomato, Plus the tomato they put on my burger is funny. Do yourself a favor and don't come to this place.
