Been coming to Niantic for 30 years. Dairy Queen WAS always quality back two years ago. Now, the quality is not there. I truly believe the formula was changed and the owner is skimping on ingredients. The ice cream seems like less cream and more ice. You can notice the water In the sides of the cup, really. This is not one visit. I went three visits with same results.

They also will not participate in the blizzard upside down challenge. This just affirms my opinion. It's sad because the long lines and raised prices are evidence that the location is making tons of money and not maintaining the quality that Dairy Queen represents. There should be a quality control division that the overhead company has to overview the locations.

There are better quality ice cream shops in town with similar prices.

You will also see how how they pacify the negative reviews with their same flat response to these issues.

Parking is tricky cause Connecticut drivers apparently don't look when they drive and just stop and turn. The service was fast and the prices are reasonable for the portions you receive. Best ice cream and value around.

I was at the dairy queen Niantic ct, Normally when you order a blizzard they hold it upside down but she didn't and if she did this stuff would've poured out all over the place so their Blizzard was kind of like a milkshake.

This place is easily accessible, has plenty of parking, and has a fairly short wait time. The only thing I wished they had more of was seating. Love that it's near the beach ⛱️

We often walk the boardwalk in Niantic and stop at DQ for a cool down treat. Service and food is always good. It's 100% takeout with a few benches around back to set at.

I had my first Diary Queen ice cream at the Niantic branch, the heath cup-achino - it had caramel, a chocolate fudge and whippy ice cream. (I can’t remember the exact name. I will definitely have it again and take a photo next time!) It was a sundae. Huge portions. I shared mine with my other half. There was a long queue as everyone was there after the Memorial Parade. I didn’t mind waiting. There’s lots of car parking space outside. It was a take away. The only thing I was sad about was there was no coffee ice cream on the menu. I get that this place is for children, the menu was huge. You don’t want children bouncing off the walls, but adults love ice cream too.

Thankfully, some great things don't change. This Dairy Queen was here 50 years ago when I was a kid. It's still in the same location, and the ice cream is just as good as it was back then. This place has a special place in my heart... Stopping here after sailing with my dad all those years ago was always an incredible treat.
