Looked forward to this place .
Ordered a beer and cocktail.
Came out pretty fast and delicious.
Then ordered our food.
Hubby ordered the stuffed flounder and stuffed shrimp.
I ordered the 2lbs crab legs and stuffed baked potato.
Order was wrong
Waitress Came out with steamed mussels??
So now I wait and wait and wait.
I just feel that I should have been a priority at that point and not have to wait while my husband stares at his food getting cold waiting for mine to arrive. This was by far the smallest portion of king crab legs supposedly 2 lbs. They were delicious but so small for 65.00???
Also they dont even cut them or Crack them them before you get them. It was terrible trying to break them open without even a proper pick.
No offer from waitress for anything extra for the very long wait.
Should have been compted.
No need to come back
Where we are from we at least get a drink or dessert for the restaurants mistake.

If you want great seafood, this is the place. They have a fish market that you pass inside going to the restaurant to sit down so you know you’re getting fresh fish
This is the only place that I will get scallops not only are they good but they’re made correctly. They’re not gummy and chewy when they come out. In other words they’re not overcooked.

We are at the restaurant and then went to get some convenience items at the front market area.
The food in the restaurant was delicious! We got swordfish and crab cakes!
A short wait of about 15 minutes during a lunch rush was very quick!
Our waitress was wonderful and we finished our meal check with her (and tipped well!)
The restaurant half you get five stars in all categories!
Unfortunately, the check out counter experience at the front counter was pretty frustrating, and rude - there were at least two people packing fish orders and checking people out, and a line at the register, but when they finished checking out the person at the register they didn't help us and walked away - no worries, there is often much to do, someone will be back soon. But when someone came back - they were telling to move and we were in the way.
This experience definitely hasn't lined up with any fish market, deli, or convenience market that I have ever been to, and if we needed to wait for the man in front of us to decide what kind of fish they wanted to grill before bought our soda to take back to our hotel, then you should have just explained that when we were waiting at the checkout, instead of saying we are in the way.
Just because we're not trying to buy uncooked fish to take back to our hotel room is no reason to treat us rudely.
I would definitely go back to the restaurant half again, and will recommend that! but will also be recommending to avoid the convenience items at the front and just go to a regular gas station, where there will be better selection, better prices, and MUCH better service. Thankfully, now I know to never go back.

04.08.25 - 'Big Al's Reel Reviews' Ep.79 Ft. Apathy 💎Flanders Fish Market & Restaurant💎 22 Chesterfield Rd Town of East Lyme, CT Yo listen, I absolutely LOVE Flanders Fish Market & Restaurant! My Brother Ap and I had an excellent experience at this amazing spot! When walking in for the first time I loved being greeted by all that fresh seafood on display! The atmosphere was dope. AP & I always find ourselves talking to everyone that walks by our table 😀 but it is fun. We had a Dope time. The service was very warm and inviting with the staff being very friendly and nice to everyone. Our server was named Jasmine and she was super cool and I liked how she always kept my water filled. Trust me, I drink a lot of water too!😁 Now let's get into the Amazing Seafood! Al ordered: 1. Lobster Roll W/truffle fries $32💣💣💣 2. Seafood platter with Pollock & Brussel Sprouts $38.00 💣 3. Hosmer Root Beer $2.99 🫣😁 AP ordered: 1. 1lb Steamers $20.00 💣 2. Baked Haddock $25.00 💣 3. Coke Zero $2.99 Flanders earned a 'Big Al's 💎 Gem Spot' for many reasons but I need to highlight that I ate the very best Lobster roll ever! Hands down!! I stand by that!!! I love the way that it is served to the table in a bowl of perfectly seasoned butter is something AMAZING! On top of it, they served me a very generous portion of Lobster and it came with French Fries and for ONLY $32.00! I also ordered the seafood Platter and every single thing that was served on that plate was AMAZING! The fried Pollock was Amazingly Dope too! ❤️ Note: They also serve the Bomb Fish & Chips and every Tuesday it's only $7.99! 💣 I can go on and on about how great Flanders Fish Market is but you really need to get your a** down there right away and check it out! It's dope and I can't wait to return! See you on the rebound, ✌🏾 peace out. ☝🏾❤️ -Big Al Mayo
Excellent food and service as always! The shrimp scampi (I chose it over spinach instead of the rice) was the best. My husband had fish tacos and really enjoyed them.

We Had reservations and when we were shown our table the air conditioning was blowing on me so we ask for another table. The next table they showed us was right next to the dining room/bar entrance with a lot of traffic. We asked for another table and were told we could wait. It took more than 20 minutes waiting to be seated again. When we asked the hostess about a table another waitress/hostess Said she lowered the air conditioning temperature and were shown a table in the same area as the original table. The air was still blowing but not on me. Actually the design of the restaurant is not geared for quiet/nice dining. The food was okay, Nothing special. I had the lobster pot pie which had a lot of crust and not much lobster. My husband had a specialty mix of seafood which seemed to have been prepared ahead of time and warmed up. The reviews of this restaurant have been excellent but we do not agree.

2012-present..Popular seafood spot especially in the summer. I’ve been here a couple of times when I resided in Connecticut and I come here when I’m back in town. There is outdoor and indoor dining.
When you enter you come to a fresh seafood area that well stocked and clean where you can purchase seafood to take home to cook. To the right is the dining area. The restaurant is clean and quaint.
The menu is always full of delicious selections. The service is always fast and friendly. Great place to eat and the dishes never disappoint.

The food here is so fresh and delicious. The lobster literally melts in your mouth. Definitely a must try if you are in the area wanting seafood. The seafood for sale was fresh and clean. It’s pricey but seafood always is. I got a hot lobster roll on a gluten free bun, husband got a cold lobster roll, my 10 year old son got kids fish n chips (he loved it and said it was very good), my 8 year old daughter got a grilled cheese sandwich that was served with slices of Granny Smith apple and a side of grilled shrimp. Service was pretty solid. Outdoor and indoor dining both seemed peasant options.

Stopped by from out of town. Busy if you want to eat outside but virtually empty inside. Josh was awesome - other diners were rude - the locals stare from their table or ignore you when you say hello or excuse me. Anyway, most of the meal was market price so make sure to check. We had the mussels- gritty and the Halibut was dry - market price was $30 - with the lobster bisque- very thick. The calamari was ok - big pieces wete chewy and smaller pieces were tender. I would not recommend this place for food cause it was ok - my 5 stars were for the service. location means nothing to me when, its about flavor. As I said, service was amazing. Nowadays I don't expect much as far as taste but I do enjoy a good experience dining out - a bad server can make a good meal bad but a good server will make a bad anything great - we had a very good time. Thanks Josh for the attention and great job.
Parking: CT drivers don't care who's on the road - they don't read signs, turn their heads and just do what they want like taking up two lanes and exiting where it clearly states "ENTER". Beware when parking cause a rear view mirror is just a decoration in their cars.

Food was good, mixed drinks were poor. Was like dining in a third world country with the massive amount of flies everywhere. Dining outside was an option, but they recommended against it due to bee infestation. Could be a decent place if they hired an exterminator.

Everything we got was delicious. As far as seafood places go, the pricing is right up there, but the food quality and portion sizes are fantastic and worth the price!
