So, we get takeout from here at least 3-4x per month- and have been for years. Also, we live closer to Tolland so it's about a 50 min drive for us to do this. I can honestly say no one I know has ever had a bad meal/experience here. Never have had to wait over the anticipated time for our order. We have never had an issue where we haven't received everything ordered and they always put our order in a box for easy carrying. The large salads are absolutely on point! The "extras" you can add for a nominal fee are absolutely worth it- as is the grilled or crispy chicken additions. The pizza is always plentiful if you walk in for a slice. Grinders are excellent. I don't understand the only option of seeded bread for toasted sandwiches, but I still enjoy them- although I do wish there were an option. The meatballs are the only meatballs that I've ever eaten in a restaurant that are reminiscent of my now deceased grandmother. In fact, my mother says they taste exactly like her mother's meatballs! I always order a side of balls- and eating one is like a comforting hello from her! The garlic knots- oh the knots- they're...well, no words. Just try them. I'm really into their pasta sauce- and I can honestly say I don't like many restaurants since I always make my own but this one I can eat by the spoonful. It's not too bitter or too sweet! The dessert selection is great! If you're planning to order online, order food only and then when you go in to do the pick up check out the dessert case. There are so many more options in the restaurant than there is online. This is what we always do. There are 2 parts to the restaurant. The pickup quick cafe side and the sit down restaurant side. We don't really ever eat in but it's a cute little Italian place. The cafe portion is busier (in times I've been there) with traffic going in and out- but I have seen people eating in there as well. That side gives me more of a pub/cafe vibe. I don't understand all the crappy reviews. If anything, this place has gotten better with time. The quality of food is great. Food always cooked the way you order it. Pizza isn't undercooked or burned. Chicken is never chewy. Eggplant isn't stringy. Salad is ALWAYS super fresh, as are the toppings. Don't think I've ever gotten one piece of brown or slimy lettuce! It's a 10 from me!

This was my first time visiting the restaurant and the eggplant parmesan wasn't up to my expectations because it was basically all breading. The pasta itself was good but the sauce was too salty for my taste. I liked the atmosphere and the service, and if in the vicinity again, I would go back and try another dish before making a final determination of the restaurant.

Wasn't bad. Really depends how you like your pizza. If you prefer thin crust, this place isn't for you. It was more like what it looks like when someone gets marinara on their fried dough. It was very doughy, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Depends what you're into. It was average for me. Didn't stand out, but it wasn't bad.

Just the place to go if you want a quick snack, like pizza. Came in, right away was welcomed and served slices of pizza. Looked at the menu. Nice options. We just decided to stick with slices of pizza. Got a chicken Florentine and cheese. Was warmed up, and we were on our way. The pieces of pizza were delicious.

I ordered a grandma slice and didn't get that. Got a slice of thick bread with parm cheese on it. Gross. I called them asking for a refund because I will not eat that. A young woman hung up on me even though I was being nice about it. Don't order from there.

Food is always amazing here. I tried the Viking pizza & it was amazing! So surprised my 2 year old ate it as well (that’s saying a lot cuz he’s been very particular lately).We got the chili sauce on the side & that sauce was amazing!Parking: Parking if offered in the front , side or back of building.
Neither Illiano’s or Uber Eats check the food to make sure it matches the order. Drove back to the restaurant after I got the wrong order and Illianos made things right. Got to keep the wrong order and they made me the right one. Very nice people but Illianos and Uber Eats need to check the food first and make sure it matches the order.

I don't live around here but I am in the area for work 3-4 days per week. The hotel I stay at is right down the road so I come to Illiano's often. I've texted Ed multiple menu items. The stuffed shells and Italian grinder were good but nothing to write home about. The meatballs, stuffed meat lovers pizza, and the BLT grinder on the other hand were awesome. I will often get something for dinner while I'm there and then grab a BLT Togo for lunch the next day because they're still great reheated in the toaster oven at work.Great service and friendly staff too.

This is my go to takeout place when I am in the area. The best salads because they are very generous with the ingredients and always fresh. I recently discovered the garlic knots here. OMG! So delicious. You must try Illiano’s in Niantic. There is something for everyone on the menu.
