Went there for the first time last night (07-05-2024) waitress demanded we open up a tab, said that she had to have my debit card in order to serve us drinks. We were there for maybe a little over an hour, went to close the tab, intending to pay cash because I knew I didn’t have enough on my card. Instead of asking us if we wanted to pay with the card or cash (even though we had told her we were paying in cash when we sat down) and tried charging my card three times, claiming it didn’t go through, so she handed me my card back and we paid cash like we had originally planned on. Got home went to bed, checked my account this morning to be over drafted and having a charge from Rustic Cafe. I’ve emailed and called and haven’t received and answer from anyone that owns the place or works there.

Walked in and the owner was room was silent and the owner immediately asked what do we want, asked for a menu and was told no food was sold since January 1st but the place has no indicator of that on website. No atmosphere and no food and no service, immediately turned out. You would think a cafe that brands itself as a gastropub and appears in food searches would serve uh you know food. 0 stars and wouldn’t recommend unless you want a dive bar.

The rustic always has incredible food, and the servers are super friendly and kind. The atmosphere is super laid-back. . The food is a little overpriced, but I don’t mind spending it since it’s really delicious.

Great little hide away with fabulous burgers and drinks. You have to try a pickle back while you're there. If you've never had one I can't promise you'll fall in Love a first try but they are a very fun treat for sure!

Stopped for lunch today. Fish and a chips were delicious as well as the Lobster Ravioli. We had the calamari appetizer which was served with a delicious sauce.Ty made a fabulous margarita as well. We will definitely return.

Ty let us know his owner Stephanie fesko ( who scares him and he didnt wanna lose his job) breaks ADA laws by not allowing us and our well trained service dogs to eat inside where it's cool on a hot summer day as we drove by. We were discriminated and he didn't want to lose his job. We feel bad for Ty and hope he is able to get a better job with people that appreciate his work effort and dont make him break laws. Keep on driving by this discriminatory cafe. What a joke.

Stopped by for a pick up order while visiting East Lyme for vacation. Had read a few reviews prior to ordering and was hopeful that the food would be as amazing as I was reading. Surprisingly I read that the service could be questionable but I had no real problems with the service being provided and I even left a tip for the waitress/bartender. We ordered the Rustic Burger well done, an order of garlic Parm wings and some tenders for my daughter. The food smelled delicous which had me excited. The burger though was rare, maybe medium rare which my girlfriend couldn't eat. The chicken wings were pounded with oil and parmesan but had no inkling of flavor to them, blue cheese helped but by wing 3 it just made my stomach upset and sad. The tenders were okay but that's all. Hopefully it was just a bad night in the kitchen and they don't always pump out the food this way. Will probably one day give them another chance to see if it was just an unfortunate circumstance, until then I wish only the best. Thank youDon't know how to add pictures through my phone. When I get the chance I will post pictures of food.
