We mer up with mu husband's friends early in a September Saturday. No wait for a table. Food came out quickly. The eggs Benedict was good, and my husband enjoyed his Denver omlette. Would definitely visit again, if our travels take us back to Connecticut.

Not many true diners left but The Shack is one of the best! Breakfast all day, great menu with lots of variety, and the staff and service are amazing! Homemade soup all year long (usually 3-4 every day) is always great, and the daily specials are worth checking out. No alcohol is served but I think that’s part of the charm. You won’t regret it if you give it a try!

Today i went to The shack with my mom and sister and although it was quite busy the food was delish? we sat at the counter and I must say it was very social everyone knew everybody

Decent all around place to eat, it's a greasy spoon with pretty good service. Not spectacular food but in my opinion it's meant to be really good and top off there and that's perfectly fine. Recommend, just get there early enough or you'll be waiting out the door.
Honestly the food is spectacular. However the service and the people working at this location are not on point. You should be a team and helping each other but instead we sat there and watched 8 workers walk back and forth and not even check the food on the counter and simply turn around and hand it to us. Theres clearly drama and turmoil going on between employees and tbh its petty and reflects in front of your customers. The spanish gentlemen was very kind and had the logic to hand us our food, however watching how it unfolded in front of us was really absurd. Drive to the Shack Groton and get excellent service there. Same food, better workers.
