Warm Hospitality, Comfy Surroundings, High Quality Food – Don’t Miss Out on This Thompsonville Destination. We tried Silvia’s for the first time yesterday and we all agreed the experience was fantastic and this would be a repeat destination. Once you step inside Silvia’s, you feel as if you are in a small café in Europe –unpretentious, but homey and comfortable, just like the owner. Silvia, a quietly confident lady from Romania with an impeccable culinary background, makes you feel like an honored guest when she asks, “What can I cook for you today?” rather than “What would you like to order?” And the food – simple fare, but oh so good. For us - tender pierogi’s cooked just right with a sprinkling of sauteed onions and a side of sour cream, a large plate filled tossed salad topped with excellent homemade dressing along with a plate of freshly-made bread (a specialty) and a slab of butter, a hearty kielbasa sandwich with sauerkraut and secret sauce, a generous sized hamburger, sandwiches served with large slices of fried potatoes, and at the end, three bite-sized pieces of homemade scrumptious chocolate cake. Thanks so much to Silvia’s staff. You made our day!

Silvia's is a hidden gem and I am so glad that we found it! We walked in on a Saturday night around 7pm and were a little concerned that there were no customers in the restaurant. We were seated and given the specials and recommendations. Those concerns started to disappear when the home made bread came out, still warm and tasted so go. We chose the Polish Holiday Dinner and the Goulash that had lamb, chicken and beef. The food was exceptional to say the least. The different spices in the Goulash were perfect and all three meats were so tender and had soaked up all of those flavors from the sauce. It was definitely an old school recipe that rivals grandma's cooking. The Polish Holiday Dinner was also extremely flavorful, from the stuffed cabbage to the kielbasa and the pierogies. The portions were double of any restaurant that I have been to so to go containers were a must. We had a piece of German Chocolate cake which was made with what appeared to be a layer or ricotta cheese. It was like biting into a piece of heaven, so light and creamy. I was truly surprised when the bill came and it was much lower that I expected for all that food. I can't wait to go back again and try something new. Thank you Silvia's!

The owner Silvia and her staff are warm and inviting, along with the atmosphere, and the food was how real food should taste, made from scratch and delicious. The goulash special was absolutely delicious as was the stuffed cabbage and kielbasa appetizer, and salad. Old world hospitality is what you'll get at Silvia's, and take an order of pierogies home for a midnight snack!

It's small and charming. The owner was our waitress and cook. She was personable and took care of us like a Mama. You need to have no place to go and not feel in a rush to get in and out to enjoy the place. Yet as I say this, we had a show to attend but we never felt we wouldn't get there. It was a relaxing enjoyable pace and left on time. The food was plentiful and delicious. The homemade Romanian wine was so delightful. Full if flavor and mot too sweet.Highly recommend this place!

The food is amazing and Silvia takes great pride in her work. We had a very large party and everyone was served quickly and we all ate well! The Romanian Wine was impressive, and the lamb stroganoff was incredible! Portions are great and Silvia is incredibly nice. Will definitely eat here again!

Sylvia is extraordinary! She is like the grandmother you always wanted. Her food was out of this world. First there was a salad served family style that was more than we could finish along with excellent bread. My Veal Marcella was spectacular. And again too much to finish (lunch the next day). My wife's seafood platter (Switzerland style) was delicious, too, and half came home with us. The other couple's dinners were equally outstanding and provided leftovers. Then Sylvia provided dessert family style that was wonderful with enough to take some home. Everything was "home made" from grandma's kitchen. We're from out of state for a collage reunion but will have to find an excuse to visit Sylvia's again. I can't say enough about how special it was. Ted
