Ballou's Restaurant & Wine Bar

Great place to gather on a Monday night. The service was wonderful. Our server Kaylin was attentive and hospitable. I haven’t seen such great customer service in a while. It is nice to see a restaurant making its customers feel appreciated.

Had the lobster bisque and the mushroom and spinach ravioli. Ravioli had a nice Gorgonzola sauce on it. Delicious. Nice glass of wine. Boyfriend got the prosciutto and goat cheese appetizer, chicken tacos and falafel and hummus. Tons of prosciutto, falafel awesome with tasty tzaiki sauce. Everything tasty but ambiance is unfortunately not great. They need to renovate. Having the bathroom and kitchen essentially right next to your table isn't ideal. Let me preface this by saying the service, wine, and tapas were exceptional. I'd come here purely for wine and appetizers. The atmosphere is very comfortable, the large windows really amplify how cozy it is during windows. Not gonna lie, makes a great dating aesthetic, it's unfortunate that the entree's disappointment.The appetizer we got was cheese fondue (tiger cheese which is a type of gruyere) with carrots and apples.
