Best cold brew in Guilford. We had a mix of salads, savory crepes, and a breakfast sandwich. Items are on the expensive side, but it’s absolutely reflected in the quality and large portion of the food received. Great outdoor patio when the weather is nice.

I’ve been there multiple times. I think they do pastries pretty well. The coffee really depends who is there. Not all are baristas.
As for the crepes: well for the price sorry but they weren’t good. It felt like they were undercook. When I asked, the person said that it was cooked as usual. She did ask if I wanted to have another one, which is nice. I just think that for $16.5 it was mediocre. I was disappointed.

Today I was in town for the Gilmore Girls Firelight Festival and came to this cafe with my husband for a light lunch. We both ordered the Potato Leek soup, one cup and one bowl, that is ALL and it came to $30. After 17 minutes it finally arrived (they were NOT busy at this time) and it was the most bland, watery, “what is this? I can’t taste potatoes or leeks or ANYTHING” soup I have ever had the displeasure of having in my mouth. My husband felt the same way. We tried our best to help the soup along with salt and pepper (both shakers were practically empty, now I know why ) but that was never going to save this sludgy water that taste similar to….nothing. Just a thick pastiness in your mouth. We told them, since you cannot throw liquids away in their trash, this is inedible what should we do with these FULL SOUPS that we did not touch bc they are really VERY BAD and all of the employees heard us and told us to throw it in the bucket and put the dish in the tray. NO OFFER OF A REFUND OR TO GET US SOMETHING ELSE!!! Can you imagine?!? It was a truly not good, bland soup that never should have been served and the fact that they didn’t offer a refund while watching us throw out ALL of it is deplorable customer service.

Edited: We went back to give this place a second chance (not the soup) and the strawberry crepe was very good and my husband’s sandwich was delicious. My chai drink was also delicious. However I think it’s important to mention the owner brought us our food and was very upset/angry about the previous review. The conversation started off, not great, but ended amicably. The owner explained she cannot answer reviews through google so this was her only way of talking out the review I suppose. She also said the soup took so long bc they heat each bowl up in the microwave as it’s ordered. So, on our second visit the food was great and I wanted to amend my rating.

The food is good but not great. The sweet crepes were really good. The savory items were just okay.

We got the steak and chimmichuri panini, Nutella and strawberry crepe, Nutella and banana crepe and butternut squash crepe. The crepes are big and for the sweet crepes they have a generous amount of Nutella and fruit. Unfortunately, the banana crepe came with banana and strawberries. The steak sandwich was very mild flavor and the chimmichuri sauce was a bit too oily. The butternut squash was good but light on the feta and balsamic.

Ahhh I forgot to take a photo of the food but they have a bomb arugula salad that had an abundance of juicy blue berries! The staff was friendly and the outside sitting on a beautiful day was befitting to host me and my friends. Keeping it as a go to for future meetings.

Super fun and tasty. The lack of plating and silverware is the only drawback. Great drinks and pastry

We were in Guilford for a few days visiting old friends. We spent a lot of time walking around the town green and visiting all the shops and eating places. One day we visited this place built inside an old Quonset hut next to the community center and very close to the green
We had a coffee and pastry and found a place to sit inside. It was very crowded today and the outside seating was too hot. Nice youngish crowd all having a good time. Fun place to hangout.

I visited with my family on July 28th, 2025. My sibling is severely allergic to tree nuts. They asked if the gluten free bread contained nuts. The person at the counter first said no, and then asked someone else and came back to us to say it was made of almond flour.

My sibling then asked if it was the same flour used in the gluten free crepes. Someone went into the back to ask, and when they came back they said they didn't have a list of ingredients, but they didn't think so.

This demonstrates a clear lack of concern about allergens in your restaurant. It's dangerous. The staff should have a list of ingredients in all the food and be trained to verify allergens from that list every time.

I emailed Belle Vie's contact email with the above information and they didn't respond.

Belle Vie is consistently very good and perhaps still one of the best kept secrets of the shoreline (although the parking lot on a Saturday morning would say otherwise!).

Great coffee, breakfast sandwiches and pastries. Special recommendation for the Monkey Bread which is a labor of love to make.
