New Star Chinese Restaurant

I was going to give this place 2 stars because it was the only Chinese place that delivered in the 3 neighboring towns-but, they recently took that feature away.
I placed a big order tonight. Egg food Yung, beef and broccoli, chicken lo mien, chicken cashews, bbq chicken sticks, fried dumplings and I think ,something else it doesn't matter.
So to start..the egg thing...(see photo)...we asked for no vegetables but that request was completely ignored. You couldnt even taste egg. It just looked so unappealing and it had no taste accept for the onion chunks. Just completely overpowered with onions. The fried dumplings were only half fried. The chicken in the chicken lo mein was rubbery and there was barely any chicken just a bowl of noodles. The bbq chicken sticks were mostly fat. The worst was the beef and broccoli ( see photo). Freaking grey colored meat. Flavorless and honestly didn't even look like real meat. And in today's world unfortunately that's a thing, so,...never going here again. I would not recommend anyone else wasting their money either. $70 down the drain. So pissed. It's completely unacceptable when everything is so expensive and restaurants want to charge up the a$$ these days...then they have zero room for error. SOOO obviously we called to say what happened, and they said we could DRIVE 15mins back there to have them redo the beef and broccoli since we didn't touch that yet, and for the other meals, since we had tasted ( and I mean we didn't eat even a quarter of any of the portions) the food they couldn't do anything but offer us ONE FREE EGG ROLL. Are u serious? First of all, you know the restaurant is a low class place if they ask you to bring back the food. Or they give you a hard time because there was a bite out of something...
One egg roll?? And why would I want to have you remake anything you wasted my time and money on in the first place. We only had ordered once before and only gave them another shot because they used to deliver. Once they broke the news it was already late and my family was hungry so we took a risk. Never again New Star..never again. Completely low class place with poor quality food and/or fake food and management from the Twilight Zone.
The only reason it's still in business is because Madison and Guilford are deprived of any decent restaurants..so the towns folk are used to mediocre, sub-par dining experiences.

Was disappointed with my beef and broccoli as there was no flavoring or seasoning at all, it was very bland. Service is great and staff are super nice. They were super busy so maybe they were rushing it.

2 Stars because a restaurant is mainly graded on its food. First time I got there. The restaurant looked clean, and was greeted promptly. That was exceptional.The issue is the food, the rice taste was good, however the boneless spare ribs were aweful. I have a very keen taste. I can tell when food is reheated. The rice was fresh, but the boneless was not. It seemed they had yesterdays ribs reheated and then a sauce poured over them. The sauce hides the reheated taste a little but I could still taste it. If you’ve ever cooked pork shoulder in an oven and then reheated the meat in a microwave or a skillet the next day you can taste the difference. The fats in the meat breakdown and it does not taste as good as fresh pork.This made me spit the food out and unfortunately I did not finish it. That combined with the fact that there is a higher price in comparison with first garden Chinese which is down the street in front of shell gas station next to the Mexican restaurant, which their food gives more portion, better tasting food, and I’ve never once have tasted food less than fresh. All for about a dollar less.I can’t see why I’ll visit this place again. Hopefully their food improves from here to a year.

BEST CHINESE EVER!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Fresh food, affordable, FAST SERVICE (5 min fresh & hot), clean inside, friendly service, and most important of all, TASTE DELICIOUS! I will be bringing my business back here again and again! The food here was PHENOMENAL!

Nice surprise, did not like it a few years back because of too much oil, salt, and very heavy brown sauce. We decided to give it a chance today, and the food was really good! THE PLACE WAS CLEAN! We ordered vegetable soup which was delicious, clean, and low in salt with lots of veggies inside. Chicken and broccoli were also very good, the rice was well cooked, not sticky, the broccoli was well steamed and true green fresh looking, low brown sauce we asked for was not too salty or heavy. We will try them again for sure! Our only complaint/concern is that the chicken did not look like a real cut of the meat but chopped and formed rubbery meat.

The food was very hot. Tasted very good. The best egg roll I've ever had.

I am new to this area and I have tried a lot of Chinese food in America and this food is by far the best Chinese I have had definitely recommend

Food is excellent. Unlike most I’ve had, if it says it’s spicy next to the item, it’s actually spicy, and if you want more just get the hot chili oil! The people are also very nice, I ordered the wrong thing thinking it was a combo, and she threw in rice on the side for me anyway! Highly recommended!

Friendly and large portions though I didn’t care for the taste of the food. Chicken wings just ok and way overpriced at $10. General Tso chicken was mushy, rice over cooked, lo Mein was like watery and mushy too.
