Som Siam Thai Restaurant Guilford

The spring rolls had definitely been sitting for hours. Could not get them to crisp up by heating. The scallion pancakes were instead fat, heavy, tasteless chunks bearing no resemblance to pancakes. The Pad Thai had sat for awhile with leaden noodles, overcooked shrimp, a meager amount of limp carrot and a few crisp sprouts.

After ordering online I was given a 45min wait. When I went to pickup it was an additional 45min wait which means they forgot to cook my meal. The food is good but not great enough to warrant such long wait times for take out. Unless I have 2 hours to wait for food, in the future I’m opting to dine elsewhere. The lady in charge seems nice but falls short in terms of service when issues like this arise. She disappears in the back and leaves you with no updates.

Excellent pork pad thai!! Lots of everything that matters...pork, pineapples, cashews, etc. Their (brown??) rice was both different and very good.

Did not eat in, so couldn't rate the service per se, but since, presumably, it was the owner who both took our order and then seated other people, I can tell you that she wasn't the friendliest. Also, beware bc their to-go menu has one price, and then they charge you more!! When questioned, she shrugged it off, with the reasoning that their prices had gone up, but they had not (apparently bothered) to reflect that in their to-go menu, but we could see the new prices if we looked at their in-restaurant menu!!! Amazing!

We gave it a low score on the atmosphere bc the restaurant was excessively decorated with tons of Hindu paraphernalia.

Lovely restaurant with delicious Thai staples such as Pad Thai and various Curry dishes . My favorite is their red curry. We’ve done both delivery and take out here. If I could have one request that would be to work on faster table service. Last two times it took like an hour to get our food.

I got take out last night, egg rolls, Siam rolls, spring onions rolls, vegetable pancakes, broccoli with shrimp and drunken noodles with tofu. It was AMAZING!!!!! Fresh, healthy, Dee-Lish!!!! Despite it being a busy Saturday night everything was cooked to perfection!

This is a hidden gem with a laidback, quiet atmosphere. If you haven’t been here lately, come back and try it again. It’s my favorite place in Guilford.

Food was delicious but they told us 40 minutes for pick up our food and it took 1:30 minutes. As I talked to other people waiting, apparently this is common. Zero respect for customer’s time.

Feel really blessed that there is a fantastic Thai restaurant near my company in Guilford! Pho, drunken noodle, Pad Thai, Pad See-Ew, Spicy eggplant and Basil, fried chicken wings, Thai iced tea, etc., I have loved everything I ordered in Some Siam!Not just good gathering place to go with my colleagues during lunch but also a awesome booster to my soul when I order dinner there in a tired and late work night :)

Clue#1. Man behind counter upon entering is sanding plastic counter top with food approx 2 feet away. 2.Tofu apparently pre prepared ( fried) and unable to steam tofu. 3. Recommend chopsticks - flatware too sticky and dirty.
