Very disappointing take out dinner. Food was not very good. The highlight of the dinner was the salad dressing, which was honestly very good.
The portions sizes were laughable. I could count the number of orzo that were served with the salmon I ordered. Speaking of the salmon, while not bad, it was nothing to write home about. I would not be surprised to learn they bought it from Restaurant Depot rather than a fishmonger. The sauce sounded unique, a sun dried tomato pistachio butter. Again, it wasn't bad, but it could have easily just been called a sun died tomato butter, as the pistachio was undetectable. The burrata ravioli were underwhelming and overpriced. The chicken they were served with was burnt.
The hostess was incredibly stuck up (no idea for what reason). It felt like I was inconveniencing her. The woman who put together my order was very nice though.
All in all, the only reason this restaurant is still around is because of its location on the Guilford green. Without the location going for it, I highly doubt it would be able to survive over a year.

Unfortunately the burgers were over cooked and boring. The garlic fries had no garlic flavor. Disappointed. Drinks were good.

South Lane Bistro has been our favorite Shoreline restaurant since it opened! We feel like family the minute we step in the door. We are immediately greeted by their friendly staff, and two of the owners, Ariel and Walter, always make a point to come over to our table, no matter how busy they are! The coastal barn atmosphere is an integral a part of the warm, relaxed vibe this restaurant offers! South Lane is a mandatory visit when our adult children come into town because it's everybody's favorite! We love their burgers (with a Thimble Island beer!), but we're also partial to their seafood specials and Super Kale Salad. One of our children has celiac, and the staff and kitchen work together to provide many gluten free options- which we also greatly appreciate.~Awesome owners, wonderful staff and delicious food!! It’s a local gem!Done

Every single meal has been phenomenal each & every time we are here which is 1-4x month ! Service is top notch - love the cozy eclectic & elegant but down to earth music, ambiance & service! Specials & menu items are always delicious. Drinks are great - dessert & coffee to finish are excellent & homemade - highly recommend ! You won’t be disappointed - wines & beers & limited drink specials are never disappointing. Lavender lemon drop martinis are 12/10!!

South Lane Bistro has an inviting beach "shack" ambience with a nice porch and gas fire that creates a warm space. The hostess is gracious and welcoming, and it seems as if all will be well. Unfortunately, the food is mostly uninspired and tasteless. The broccoli appetizer was the best--fresh and tasty but the veggie tacos contained only a few strips of red pepper and onion with little to no seasoning or herbs, all slapped on top of cold tortillas that were budget brand at best. A drizzle on top was purportedly "aioli " but seemed more like something from a fast food restaurant and added little. Very skimpy proportions could be accepted if prepared with some flair, but honestly, my 8 year oldmakes a better taco. Others ordered a burger and steak fajitas with similar complaints of tasteless food. South Lane Bistro has a wonderful location and has some lovely workers, but they need some inspiration in the kitchen. A night out should evoke happy feelings and contentment, but South Lane Bistro justmade us cross it off our list of places to go to or recommend.

Jazz in the background, assiduous staff, calamari and the scallops with corn risotto were very good. View of car park not too distracting. Interior bar area popular!
