My wedding was February 25th 2024 and we were supposed to get a cake delivery from them but now they have our money and nobody has called us back and all we know is what they said on their website temporarily closed!!

Unfortunately, everything about the cake we ordered was incorrect. We ordered via phone a week in advance and were told to pick it up at 11. It was not ready (or even started) upon arrival, because the baker didn’t know we ‘really wanted it’. We needed to come back to get it hours later and it was the wrong size, which we didn’t know until we saw it upon pick up. When we cut into the birthday cake it was the wrong flavor! The very small cake did look pretty, but I could not recommend ordering from Take the Cake again.

First place I would go to for special occasion cakes and cookies. Best buttermilk icings and fillings and the softest chiffons and chocolate cakes. Absolutely love

Had ordered some cupcakes and a small cake for a wedding. The cupcakes were delicious but not all of the flavor's were delivered. The small cake looked amazing but the taste was inedible. The frosting that we wanted was put inside the cake instead of outside. The cake batter tasted unlike any cake I've ever had so we had to throw the cake away. The only reason for 3 stars is because the cupcake tasted very good albeit we didn't get all the flavors we wanted but the quanity was the right amount. Overall, I suggest going somewhere else for ordering anything in advance. If you come to buy anything on the spot then it'll be a better selection I hope.

Used this bakery for our wedding cake as a recommendation from a family member . Probably should have done a lot more research before deciding to go with them. Especially for such an important day! The communication with the owner Gina was horrible. On top of that, I requested the wedding cake be ready for pickup at 10am. She asked if 10:30am would be okay. I agreed even though it was cutting things very close for a wedding with a tight schedule. My father showed up to the bakery to pick it up at 10:30am like agreed upon .. and of course the cake was not ready. Gina told him she thought it was 11am they agreed on. False . As if it couldn't get any worse , She proceeded to place her own flowers on the cake when I specifically stated I wanted a NAKED cake and my florist who I paid thousands of dollars for was going to place flowers that matched my wedding theme. When I saw the cake I had to have the venue rush to scrape off the flowers and replace them with the ones provided by the florist. BUT WAIT .. there's more ! My now husband and I cut into our cake in front of over 100 guests , a videographer and photographer to see that the carrot cake we ordered is 90% Vanilla cake . We chose this bakery for the taste of the carrot cake and thats it .. and we get ripped off with this bullshit of a cake. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. Cannot believe this place is still in business with how poorly it is run. You would think something as serious as a wedding cake would be done with precision and clear communication. Sad to say I will never be returning and will steer future brides away .

Amazing muffins and service! This is the second time that I've called Take The Cake just a few days before requesting a dozen muffins and the owner is always accommodating! The muffins taste amazing, my family loves them, and they are always consistent. They always get my order correct and it's always been ready on time! I highly recommend! So yummy :)

Yesterday morning (Saturday) I went to Take the Cake to pick up a carrot cake that I had ordered on Wednesday for my wife's Birthday. No cake, no record of me placing the order. After being not-so-subtly accused by the "baker" behind the counter that it must be my fault (did you call or order in person, did you have the right date?), I showed her my iPhone to prove I called on Wednesday. She did not offer to make me a new one, just offered me one of the cakes on display. While I was calling my wife to find out if she liked any of the alternatives, the same person was explaining to the customer after me that they ran out of the kind of frosting she ordered and would she like an alternative? While they were arguing over that, my wife declined any other pre-made cake they had, so I just walked out. I wish I had read the reviews of this place before I ordered, unfortunately this is not an unusual occurrence, at least not in the last year or so. We have ordered many cakes from them in the past with no problems. These days it's a gamble, either a great cake, no cake, or something in between. Not a gamble I'm willing to take for a special occasion that warrants fine baking.

I asked for white buttercream and the cake is yellow and brown. It looks like baby p**** When I told them this they asked me to come back to fix it when I need the cake for a party today and I don't have childcare to go back. And their response to me when I said I have kids is that "they do too you can figure it out" so nasty and horrible. I'll Never go there again or recommend them.

I just finished serving three cakes for my triplets birthday (and had to laugh that the person behind me picking up has also mentioned us in their review a few hours ago). The one cake was misidentified as a type of cake we hadn't ordered, but I think may have been the correct kind. Sadly it was hard to tell because all of the cakes lacked flavor. We ordered a strawberry shortcake cake that had no evidence of strawberries or strawberry flavor. I was hoping to find my go to bakery but have to keep looking.

I called last week to order a cake for a birthday. The owner said the bakery would not be open the week after Easter but said she could make the cake and I could pick it up at 10:30 am on 4/11. I got to the bakery at 10:15 and stayed for half an hour. She never showed up. What a waste of time. You lost a customer.

When someone orders a cake ahead of time, confirms the order will be available for pick up on a Friday, during regular business hours, calls two days before to confirm everything and then drives an hour only to find them closed with not so much as a sign on the door (and other customers arriving for the same reason/result) that is unprofessional! Yes you were closing for Spring Break next week, but confirmed you would be open for the order placed for pick up today, yet you were not there. Not so much as a phone call or text. Not even a post on Social Media. Used to love this place, and have recommended them to others. Was even going to order a huge cake for an 80 person event in June. No more. We will find a more reliable bakery who respects their customers and their time. The only thing that takes the cake here is the unprofessionalism.
