This class was super helpful to me as a novice sourdough bread baker. The day was planned so that we had plenty of time to actually make the bread and learn a great deal about the process. Would highly recommend.

I had a great time at the Rye Sourdough baking class! I am not a stranger to sourdough but I am more of a cook and less of a baker, meaning I’ve been winging it with bread baking and wondering why my bread doesn’t come out perfectly. I learned so much at the class about temperature - of the oven, the dough and the water - and how important it is to a successful loaf of rye bread. Stefanie is a great teacher and we left with three perfect loaves of bread. I will definitely be back!

I have been baking bread for 3 years and wanted to take the intro course to sharpen my skills. Even though this was an intro course, I still really enjoyed it and picked up some new tricks and was able to identify a few things to fix. Stefanie is such a good teacher and felt really welcomed and comfortable the moment I walked through the door. The bread sampling portion was amazing as well! I recommend any of their workshops whether you’re new to bread baking or a seasoned bread baker.. something for everyone!

What an amazing experience this was. Stephanie is excellent at what she does. Her passion for her craft shows in how she teaches and in the quality of her breads. If you weren’t that interested in making bread, you will be after her class. And the beautiful country home setting is warm and a delightful place to learn.

From someone who has never made bread in her life, I found this to be a very approachable lesson on bread making. The hands on demonstrations really helped to get an understanding of the process. We were also able to learn about other breads and how we could apply what we learned to making them. Really looking forward to making my own from start to finish this weekend with my new starter!

Amazing bread making workshop.Stephanie taught us how to make a sourdough bread that tasted delicious in an intimate atmosphere. She answered all if our questions so that we could feel confident baking on our own.

Stephanie was a joy to learn from. So knowledgable and experienced yet able to convey useful tips and techniques to a beginner such as myself. The 'bakery' is a lovely environment to work in. The bread/cheese/spreads that Stephanie prepared for tasting were amazing!

Took the rye sourdough class last Sunday, and it was the best experience. Stephanie the owner/instructor is remarkable. A wealth of knowledge, and an excellent communicator. Her workshop was just the right size for our class of 6, and I came away with so many valuable tips and ideas. What an incredible day!

Brotworkshop I wish I could give you more than 5 stars! I had the pleasure of taking a workshop this past year and it was fantastic. The class I took was sourdough and it was extremely informative with a little bit of history, science and hands on I found the class to be easy to follow. I am looking forward to another class in the future - I think I will go for the pretzel making class in the fall.In the meantime, I am a regular customer who has purchased all their offerings. From the French Country w/Olives (my favorite) to authentic German Pumpernickel these breads beat any store-bought bread and are not full of junk. I am happy to have such a treasure in my area. Thanks ladies for your passion of baking and bread, I AM A FAN!

I have been fortunate to have participated in several classes over the past year! If I could give more stars, I would!I started with the sourdough bread class, then moved on to making pretzels, holiday cookies and most recently a rye bread making class. The classes are in a beautiful setting in CT, small groups so all questions are addressed , very informative and lots of fun!Even after a year, I am still making bread and have found some creative uses for the starter such as waffles and pizza dough. You will not regret taking a class. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever done! Thank you to Stefanie and Angie for sharing your tremendous talent!

These bread workshops are excellent! You learn the art of bread making, work in a small group to make your own bread from start to finish, and get to taste various breads throughout the class. All in a beautiful setting in Killingworth.

My wife and I had a wonderful day at Brotworks learning the history, science and techniques to make fantastic bread. They have a terrific workspace. The program was very well organized and they walked you through each step involved in making your own bread. All this was supplemented by an extensive written handout. Of course there was bread and spreads to snack on during the break in Stephanie's beautiful back yard.
