Husband took me out on a date here. Beautiful atmosphere, you def feel like you’re in the city. And don’t get me started with the food now.. the steak guysss THE RIB EYE!!!!! Coupled with the Cauliflower dish…??? ?? I’d go back.

We came to have dinner here, the food was great, however, the atmosphere and service was middling. Our reservation was at 730p, so in the dinner rush, but it was still incredibly loud. Please consider hanging sound-dampening foam, so diners can hear each other at their own table.
We very much enjoyed our food (pork tomahawk, pastas, and a pizza), but took some time for drinks, apps, and entrees to arrive. Unclear who our server was, so we ended up flagging down a few people (all helpful and kind). We also noticed the wine pours were uneven throughout the evening, some quite a bit heavier than others.
While a solid addition to the restaurants in the area, it seems like there might be a few wrinkles to iron out.

DISAPPOINTING. I went there and was sitting outside. After a couple minutes we asked to be seated inside because of the cold weather. We were having our desert and far from finishing our food. The hostess basically asked us to leave without even offering us politely to move to the bar. It is upsetting to feel discriminated because you look different. Doubt this place will last. Besides, the food is not that great. The server was good but the hostess was really rude. I go out all the time and have never been asked to leave.

My wife and I live locally and were delighted when Fern opened several months ago. We’ve dined at this interesting space 10 or 12 times, mostly at the bar. The 2 bartenders- Connor and Tara- are friendly and attentive. We mostly split a Caesar salad and have a pizza margarita as our main course. ( We’re not big eaters). We went the first week it opened and met one of the owners. Nice guy. I am not shy and immediately mentioned to him that the noise level made it impossible to carry on a normal conversation, at a table for four.Nothing has been done to address this noise issue( Litchfield County has the oldest, and probably deafest, population in Ct). Anyway, we’re not foodies, and the pizza is ok, and our servers( bartenders) friendly. We would go a lot more often if the noise level was reduced by 10 decibels( relatively easily done), but I doubt it will happen.

Had a great dinner at Fern! The food was fantastic (meatballs and polenta especially), cocktails were great, our water was so friendly and helpful, place is beautiful. It’s a bit pricey but did not disappoint. Will definitely be going back!

Nice use of space in repurposing an older building that was once an old firehouse. The food is good, but is unfortunately quite pricey . 2 entrees, 2 desserts and 2 drinks really shouldn't total $150.00 before tip.

Pretentious environment and a genuine lack of understanding of what Italian food is. The name is appropriate as like a fern as everything there could be better off as bio-fertilizer. But my goodness, the vapidity inside, outside, and on the menu.
We dined for the first time on Valentine’s Day. The atmosphere was cozy yet had a trendy feel. The attention to detail and the way the staff worked as a team to best serve their guests was exactly the way I love to be treated, especially working in the service industry myself. The food was spot on and the best I’ve had in the area since visiting Italy. Thank you for a beautiful dinner. We will be back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Fern was really disappointing. Food is average and the portions are very small. The noise level is deafening. Service is fine but some of the staff had an attitude and made us feel unwelcome. Overall it is not comfortable and the atmosphere doesn’t feel natural.

The waitstaff was attentive and knowledgeable. They were able to accommodate a large party with complicated orders. Cannot recommend this place enough for a special occasion with friends and family.
