Wow, one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had and I lived in Brooklyn for 15 years. Staff so amazingly friendly. SUPER welcoming to my 5 year old son. Can’t say enough about this place.

This place is a gem ! Everything is just as expected and delicious. The stuffed bread is the best I’ve ever had and would highly recommend it ,stuffed to the gills and super huge. All of them are good but the eggplant stuffed bread is my favorite. Worth every penny!

Loved the food!! Would definitely go back. Nice to go out and love the food. Shrimp salad, Roasted Brussel sprouts, BLTs were excellent. 3 tables for convience.

Do yourself a favor, take a $50 bill out of your wallet, burn it and go anywhere else. Never trust a place with not one price anywhere…literally. I went with a co worker and for 2 grinders and 2 sodas was $49.00…..plus the grinders were terrible, dry, bread stale, and lacking in meat

My husband and I came into La Strega this morning for the first time. We were welcomed like entering into my families home. We chatted a bit with the owner and her staff. Ordered a grinder that was way better than what we have ordered from other places. We live around the corner from La Strega, and are now asking ourselves “why haven’t we tried this before now?” We will definitely be back!!

La Strega Italian Deli truly has a charming old-world feel that makes it special. I've had the pleasure of trying their grinders, pasta dishes, soups, and dinners, and I can confidently say that everything I've tasted has been delightful. One standout dish for me is the broccoli rabe with sausage; it’s exceptionally well-prepared and flavorful.

The owner of this lovely deli, Anna, is incredibly accommodating and genuinely passionate about her cooking. She engages with customers and brings a vibrant energy to the place. Her staff is attentive and polite, making an effort to meet everyone’s needs, even during busy times.

I’ve also had the opportunity to have La Strega cater for work functions and a small get-together. Each time, the variety of grinders was fantastic, and for the get-together, I ordered a beautifully arranged cheeseboard featuring various cheeses, fresh Italian cold cuts, marinated olives, and The chicken parm, let’s just say It was a hit!

Other popular items I've enjoyed include the eggplant rollatini, fresh pasta sauce, meatballs, and the delightful pepperoni bread chicken cutlets, ribeye, pork loin and all types of variety of pizza, calzones, rice, balls, and so many other delicious food.
A highlight of mine is Anna's homemade pistachio cake—simply incredible!

If you find yourself in Middlebury, I highly recommend stopping by this deli. Anna also offers a wonderful selection of pastries, Italian cookies, and well-known Italian brands like espresso cofdie and biscotti. and so much more.

It's important to support local establishments like La Strega, especially given the hard work and dedication Anna and her team put into their business and community. They actively participate in local events and genuinely care about serving their customers.

First time visit today and it certainly will not be my last! Grinders are incredible- delicious, generous portions, fresh bread and a great selection of specialty grinders along with your basics. The pasta e fagioli OMG cannot wait until the next time I can get it. Best deli within miles!!

Over priced. $14 for a Italian combo on a roll. The roll was stale. The lunch meat was not that good. Where did they get off charging this?
