Absolutely amazing! The beef brisket was tender, tangy, hearty, and satisfying, with generous portions. The cornbread is fluffy and moist, only made better by the whipped honey butter. Our new favorite restaurant.

We had the best meal tonight! The pulled pork was sweet and tangy and the portions were substantial. Great cornbread and the baked beans were delicious! We ordered from the Hubspoke Kitchen in Wallingford and the online order form was easy to use. Service was very quick. We will definitely order again!

Ordered online. Items were missing. When I called the restaurant to ask them to take the missing food off the bill, I got told they were closed an hour before their listed closing time and an attitude when I was trying to tell them that I was missing food. When Willie's was in Waterbury, it was absolutely the place to be. I feel bad for the original owner because whoever has it now is riding the coattails of a once amazing name in BBQ.

Great ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, beef brisket sandwiches, and their special Brown Derby sandwich. Southern foods and sides done right.

We've ordered from Uncle Willie's several times through DoorDash. We have never had a bad meal or bad food from there. Everything is flavorful and delicious. Just good southern style bbq. I love that they give different sauce options. The Carolina mustard reminds me of vacations to the Carolinas. The cornbread and honey butter is heavenly. The fried okra is the second best fried okra I've ever had.

Edit to add: ii should have known then that it wasn't southern food. They dont use tobasco down there. HOW ABOU5 JUST REFUND ME SINCE YOU KNOW THAT WHAT IM SAYING IS TRUE. THE FOOD WENT INTO THE TRASH.I wish I read the reviews before ordering. As I walked in, uncle Willie was bragging about cooking soul food since 1995. He claims his bbq is world famous. ? ? ? The food is NOT southern style bbq. The burnt ends and pulled pork are nothing to write home about. No flavor of smoke at all. Just oven baked, dry meat. The sides are cleverly misleading by having "peoples names; Auntie Anne's Fanous Mac and cheese... it's awful, noodles and cheese wiz tasting. The green beans, you literally get 15 string beans for 5.49 and they have a weird seasoning, almost like nutmeg or something odd and definitely not southern style. The bacon inside the green beans was literally colorless, didn't even taste like bacon and the green beans had no bacon flavor. It's almost like boiled bacon was thrown in for show. The mashed potato with jalapeños were OK, but instant mashed and pickled jalapeños? Odd. NOW,, the collard greens were interestingand he meantno harm. Maybe try turkey necks or hamhocks but PORK SKIN HAHA, after we removed the pork skin used to flavor, and stems. They didnt have any seasoning other than the pork skin, so we seasonedt them after removingthe juice and stems., for 10$, the containers are supposedly by weight, the container was full of juice and the greens. The flavor was good, especially with the hot vinegar and some seasonings but over HALF of the $10.00 container were the stems. ? We sat for 20 minutes removing the stems. ONLY TO take a bite and get a gritty dirt taste, sandy like. Trash! the baked beans were sadly the besf side, and was literally was a small .99 cent can of bushes , that he upcharges to 5.49. The sweet bbq is ok, but the hot is oily and flavorless, not hot at all. The hot vinegar is decent. The corn bread is good, sweet and moist. But all in all, i feel robbed for $75.00, also after ordering and paying, I noticed that they had a meal with way more meat and sides for 15 less. Smh. Never again and I will always look up reviews now. Not to be rude but soul food and southern cooking is seasoned from the heart. This was seasoned by someone who thinks they can cook... I wouldn't recommend this to anyone ever. Mission BBQ is actually smoked meats. This dudes using an oven and calling it smoked.

Food is good. The unnecessary political display is obnoxious.

The only problem with this place is it’s not located next to my house. The food is delicious. Full stop. It’s the best BBQ I’ve ever had and I spent most of not all of my adult life in the south. Our waitress was kind, caring, went above and beyond and deserves a shout out. Jenna- thank you. I ate the side of Mac and cheese I didn’t inhale at the table for breakfast this morning. The dining room was no frills. I did buy some books on the way out, as per the general store vibe exuded. If you are looking for BBQ, go here. It’s literally the best.

I would give a 0 if possible! Everything we ordered was disgusting! Tenders, soup, Mac and cheese … never again
I was so disappointed in this place. I lived in Texas for nearly a decade and came to love authentic barbecue, especially a well smoked brisket. This place heated up my food in a microwave. The brisket bore absolutely zero resemblance to what I became used to in central Texas. There are places in Texas where the people who made my food would be fined, possibly arrested. Don't waste your money. There might be authentic BBQ in CT but this isn't it. Not by a shot as big as Texas.

Just picked up dinner, if I'm being brutally honest the price you pay for the portion size is way too much, the meats are good and tender but the portions are embarrassing, I paid 8 something dollars for mashed potatoes and I got like 3 ounces of powered mashed potatoes. Got some bacon cheese fries, soggy fries with 3 strips of bacon and some cheese thrown on top. The foods decent but it's certainly not top 10 or even top 15 bbq places in Connecticut. I expected better.
