Was told that this place was good food !!!! I have traveled this country for 43+ years driving tractor trailer and I have eaten at many BBQ places and this place IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING !!!!❤️❤️
The food was out within 10 minutes of the time we ordered and the BBQ Smoked Brisket with Diesel Baked Beans that were SMOKED also and they even brought out their own style of BBQ MAC & CHEESE and EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING and the portions were fantastic as well ( If you leave here hungry then it’s your own fault ) !!!!!!
This is one of the BEST BBQ PLACES in the entire USA and it is DEFINITELY The BEST BBQ in Connecticut and the Staff is Super Friendly and helpful also !!!!!!
If you’re looking for a Little Taste of HEAVEN then look no further than right here in Milldale, CT exit 28 off of Interstate 84 !!!!!!

The food is excellent. Everything tasted great. I ordered the 3 meat platter and got ribs, chicken thighs and brisket. The brisket was probably my least favorite only because it was all chopped up in tiny pieces. Its probably better in a sandwich. The ribs and chicken were perfectly tender and delicious. I really loved the collard greens and the chili mac n cheese side dishes. I highly recommend them as a side choice.

The employees were friendly, even Brad Hamilton. They double checked allergen information with me, advised us on the best choices, and presented a clean sit down BBQ joint. The decor is attractive to kids of all ages, especially those who like collectable cars.

Veteran owned, with an atmosphere of camaraderie and joy. I was greeted and served with a smile. Definitely a really great place to taste some well balanced sweet, savory, and smoky BBQ meat. I recommend the two meat platter with some collard greens and cornbread. You could always add any other meat as desired. Overall, I had a pleasant experience. Thanks gentlemen.

I was really looking forward to trying Pig Rig BBQ, especially since the restaurant was personally recommended to me by the owner. Unfortunately, my experience was so negative that I never even got the chance to try the food. When my friend and I arrived, a woman greeted us kindly and gave us menus. I asked if there were beans in the chili since I have an allergy. She wasn’t sure, so she asked a male coworker with short dark hair. He immediately responded, “We don’t even have chili,” even though several items on the menu clearly listed chili, such as the chili dog and chili mac. He then said, “Why, are you allergic or something?” When I told him yes, he replied, “Well, then it looks like you can’t eat here.” My friend tried to de-escalate by explaining that the owner himself had recommended the place and that we didn’t want to leave without buying something. Instead of softening, the man behind the counter seemed even more irritated. He told his coworker not to take our order because he was going to make a phone call. Shortly after, a Caucasian family walked in, and the same employee greeted them politely—completely different from how we had just been treated. That contrast made the interaction feel racially charged and deeply disappointing. It’s unfortunate, because we came in genuinely excited to support a local business and try their food. I truly hope the owner becomes aware of this employee’s behavior, because no customer should be made to feel unwelcome or disrespected, especially in a way that suggests discrimination.

It’s a very small establishment but the workers is kind and polite. The food isn’t all that great it’s actually not old only a select few items.

I found the staff was great and attentive. The food was not great, we ordered 2 pulled pork sammies and fries. We were greeted by a slap in the face of a price... Way over priced. The pulled pork was dry and definitely needed extra sauce as if it was reheated or sat around under heat lamps. I was disappointed after how good the meal was in Wallingford. I hope these are growing pains and we can have another great BBQ joint in town.

Unforgettable BBQ Experience Thanks to Pig Rig! We had Pig Rig cater our daughter’s rehearsal dinner, and the experience was incredible! From the moment Dan arrived, everything was handled with professionalism, warmth, and precision. He set everything up beautifully, making sure the presentation matched the celebratory vibe of the evening. And the food—wow! The BBQ was out of this world. Tender brisket, juicy pulled pork, flavor packed kielbasa, delicious pulled chicken, and sides that had everyone going back for seconds (and thirds!). The guests were raving about the mac and cheese, cowboy beans, potato salad and cornbread. It was the perfect blend of comfort and flavor, and it made the night feel extra special. Dan didn’t just serve food—he helped create memories. If you’re looking for top-notch BBQ and service that goes above and beyond, look no further. Pig Rig is the real deal!
5 stars, the BBQ dog is perfectly cooked with that pop as you bite and the pulled pork is so tender and soft with tons of flavor. 10/10 recommend coming by and enjoying some great food and lovely atmosphere aswell as supporting local American business 🇺🇸
