The whole experience was 5stars. Every detail noticed. Simone took such good care of us at the bar. We will come back.
Great Inn. Romantic setting. Amazing service.
Incredible service in beautiful surroundings.
What sets Winvian stratospheres apart from any resort in CT is its consistent and reliable culinary philosophy. Chef Chris Eddy insists that his team be deeply passionate about seed and soil quality, the art of growing, and the craft of preparing the freshest ingredients. You’ll may ask his culinary team to sign your treasured menu as a keepsake
Really nice place and top shelf dining experience dinner, would highly recommend staying and or eating here
Wow what a destination hotel. But it's so much more than that. It's an experience! Go there and check it out for yourself. The staff, food, and beverages are only complemented by the views.. It's just hands down amazing..
It’s beautiful but my massage was awful.
I have been fortunate to photograph several full wedding weekends here and cannot wait to do it again! The 113 acres of space is luscious and beautiful and the location serves as a fantastic getaway for your family and closest friends, with more than 6 mini lodges, each with a unique and fun theme. Many ingredients are grown in the garden and the staff provides a true understated luxury experience. It doesn't get much better than this for a mini-destination wedding location!
Great service and the rooms are awesome. The interior is modern and has all the modern appliances you need. We stayed in the treehouse and the space was really unique and comfy.
We planned a weekend getaway at the Winvian Farm over the July 4th weekend, staying two nights—one in the Beaver Lodge and the next in the Woodlands. Both accommodations were beautifully unique, and as we explored the grounds, it became clear that each lodge offers something special and distinct.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, drinks, and time at the pool both days. While we had initially planned to dine at the fine dining restaurant, we unfortunately didn’t get a chance to. However, we did experience the main floor restaurant on our first night, and the food was full of flavor with a thoughtful menu.
The staff stood out throughout our stay—attentive, warm, and genuinely enthusiastic about ensuring guests have a great experience. From the initial welcome to dining service and even room service, we felt well taken care of. Special thanks to Erin, the manager, the attendant at the pool (whose name we sadly forgot), and the kind woman who helped us after a bicycle mishap—each of them left a strong, positive impression.
On that note: a word of caution about the bicycles provided on the property. They feature reverse pedal brakes and no gear shift, which makes navigating hills and gravel paths quite challenging. If you’re not used to this type of setup, it can be tricky—and in our case, a slip led to a tumble into the shrubs (thankfully, just shrubs!). When we raised our concerns, we were told, “you ride at your own risk.” Not quite the response we expected. These bikes are meant for paved, flat surfaces – not hills.
That aside, if you’re planning a stay, you’ll find peace, beauty, great food, drinks, and exceptional staff. Just maybe skip the bikes, unless you're really confident—and maybe wear more than just a helmet, because the trees and shrubs don’t hold back!
Restaurantji Recommends
This was the best vacation we have had in a while. If you want a luxury place to stay, with the best staff ever. This is the place. Restaurant and spa on location. Both are 5 star. We will definitely be back.
Winvian Wedding!
Our daughter was married in April 2025 at Winvian Farms and it was simply spectacular. We cannot rave enough about everyone at Winvian. The rehearsal dinner, welcome event, the wedding ceremony, reception, and Sunday brunch were, each in their own right, outstanding. Everyone at the wedding was blown away by the food. Chef is a genius. We have no idea how he is able to prepare such delicious food for so many people. Everyone at Winvian was so well organized, kind, efficient and fun to work with. Special shout outs to Ann, Erin, Stefano, Lauren, Rachel, and of course Chef. The cottages are amazing, the grounds so beautiful, and the Spa is a dream. The Morris/Litchfield area is wonderful. All of our guests thought that the wedding weekend was the best that they had ever attended. Thank you all!
The unique cabins at Winvian are wonderful. Aside from that, our visit was disappointing. Some of the food was good, but some was not up to par, including pancakes that were chalky and undercooked, gnocchi that had no right being called gnocchi, among others. They forgot to do housekeeping, and didn't try to do turn down until well after the published time (and there was nothing to turn down). The service overall was good, but awkward at times. Of the several Relais's we've stayed at, this one was the least good and the most expensive.
This place is phenomenal. Best staff I’ve ever experienced. Best dinner of my life.
Everything is 5 stars except the food. Breakfast is great but dinner menus are way too fancy and coated in butter. They could use some food options with less dairy and meats.
