First time here. I grew up in Cheshire, roughly 15 miles away and was unaware of this place until I recently saw it on a YouTube video. We had Famous Hot Dog, fries and onion rings. Everything was AMAZING!! I went back for a second Famous Dog. Will definitely be back!!

Old school lunch spot for very reasonably priced burgers, fries, and what is arguably the best hot dog in Connecticut. Should always be had with the famous meat sauce, onions, and mustard. The staff makes up for the simple ambiance with superb service. Don't pass this gem by.

Capital Lunch, It is Capital lunch. I have been going to Capital lunch since 1999. I got my first hotdog at Capital Lunch thanks to my accountant. I am not from the area, but I did some investment that year a block away from the place. He place has been established for years. When I went the first time, the place looked old, but different. The service was great and the staff was amazing. Everything I go to the place it has not changed a bit. The service is great all the time. The food is delicious. It is an A1 place to have lunch. You will enjoy the food.

Modern approach to old school craft. With about $40 you can get a Famous Hot Dog Combo w fries and a drink + double cheeseburger combo that comes with onion rings and a drink, an extra Famous dog for the road and a $4-$5 tip.
Oh my god I'm so full. The Famous sauce is tasty and the staff work well together. When I walked into Capital Lunch there was a line from the counter to the doors. I overheard one guy buy 5 Famous dogs while I was eating.
It's clear locals and day trippers enjoy this spot. I will definitely be back.

I do not know where to begin, this place is on my shortlist of regulars after one visit.
First you're transported back to your childhood when you'd go out for dogs or burgers with your friends. Prices are are throwback as well.
Food is incredible. This is easily the best hotdog I've been served in CT. It was fast, hot, and downright delicious. I got the famous (mustard, onion, chili sauce) and don't regret it at all. Hit the spot in the absolute best way. I also ordered fries which came out super hot and fresh. They were lightly salted and crispy outside with a fluffy inside.
I couldn't find a flaw in the food, service, or atmosphere. If you need a quick lunch, or want a relaxing sit down meal this is your place.
Parking: There are metered spots out front as well as a big Plaza across the street to park in for free.

My boyfriend and I went to Capital Lunch for the first time (saw that it was claimed to be best hotdogs in CT). We ordered our food and stepped to the area where the sodas were for maybe 5 seconds when some guy behind the counter starting yelling saying 'Hey hey what are you guys doing?!All the sodas are the same price $2:00 are you getting 1 or 2?? Very rude didn't understand was I taking too long to look to see what soda options they have. We should've left right then but we didn't. The food was AWFUL! Hotdogs were cold, the burger was like a hockey puck, dry no flavor I threw half of it out which I nvr do! Needless to say we'll nvr be back and I'm sure the owner is going to leave a pompous comment..a waste of $40. The only good thing was the Pepsi and Onion rings.
