Probably one of my new favorite restaurants!! They have the kindest ladies working here. And the food!!! OMG!!! Sooooo good!!! If they had a location in Middletown, I’d probably go every week!

I didn't like either the alcapurria or the potato filling. The alcapurria had too much oil and the filling felt like it was made from instant potatoes from a box. This is the second time I've gone for fried foods and I didn't like it at all.

While searching for a place to host a family lunch, I found Criollisimo. The reviews were excellent so we decided to call ahead for a party of 8-9. The food was amazing!! So fresh and simply delicious. The place is clean and organized. Brenda, the owner, was excellent and very warm. Wonderfully run business. A must have if you live by or are visiting the area.

I have known the owner for many years. She is the OG when it comes to Puerto Rican homestyle cooking. Tight space but the food never disappoints. If you have never tried this type of cuisine, I encourage you to come hungry and comfortable. Try the pork with yellow rice, beans and sweet plantain or maybe try some beef stew, empanadas or potato balls. Need a quick family meal, get a large to go container of rice beans and some roasted chicken the prices are better than the fast food joints.Vegetarian options: Plantains, root vegetables.

First time trying this place and it surpassed my expectations! I loved how authentic and real the prices and food was.Brenda greeted us and asked us what we wanted and she was so funny and kind. She answered all our questions and honestly was a true gem to our whole experience.We order a bit of everything but what you do have to try is their pernil, empanadas, and plantains. The plates filled me up and packed so much flavor. Everything is cooked fresh and day of in the morning.The restaurant itself is laid back and very casual to have lunch or dinner with coworkers or family.Highly recommend for anyone who wants a filling plate with quality and at a great price.
