We were very disappointed in our dinner of sauerbraten and paprika schnitzel last evening. Flavor was lacking in both meals which included the sauerbraten, schnitzel, mashed potatoes, carrots, and spaetzel. The service was slow and lacking. It's not like it used to be and we won't be coming back.

Our company held our Annual Oktoberfest party today and we chose East Side for catering. Barbara and her team knocked it out of the park, our company LOVED the food and it couldn’t have been easier to pick up. All of our dishes were kept in warming boxes and they provided hot plates/utensils!

I can’t thank you all enough for making this a party to remember! Prost!!!

The beer is great, service is great and the atmosphere is lively and fun. I love stopping by and experiencing whatever event they have going on. The wait staff is energetic and attentive and you can tell the owner loves the place. The food is unfortunately not the best, but good with solid options including authentic German dishes, a giant pretzel, schnitzels and an amazing pate that I love to pair with their beer. Stop in for a great time!

What a fun dining experience!
Be sure to order a full liter of bier as it is very much a part of the experience in visiting East Side. The appetizers are spot on and the meals are German with a hint of America thrown in - you can find something to make your picky eaters happy. You can also enjoy a taste of Bavaria.

Great all the way around! Interactive beer orders, great food. Live accordion music on saturdays. Great beer, wine and food specials. Delicious deserts.

Their jagerschnitzel is as good as I've had anywhere - perfectly trimmed and prepared cutlet with a five-star, delicious sauce. The atmosphere is perfect Bavarian Old World restaurant and beer garden. This is definitely a "don't miss"

Authentic German food with descent portion sizes in an Octoberfest atmosphere. Accordion player walks the room playing all the classic German music and takes most requests regardless of genre. It is a little pricey but still well worth the experience. Looking forward to my next visit.

Great German place! Food was excellent and the atmosphere was just as good. Very lively and fun place. Staff is very interactive and friendly. The German pot roast was cooked perfectly and had a very rich flavor. A must try in you are in the area!

The service was great. Our server was very knowledgeable. He explained the difference between a couple of menu items and made recommendations on beer and wine, which were perfect! The food was good and was very much like what I experienced in Germany last summer.
And kudos to the artist who painted the mural in the large dining room!

Having dinner there last night made my whole month!
As a first generation American with a German father and Austrian mother. This place made me reminisce on my childhood when my dad (RIP) took my mom and I to German restaurants, namely Rudy's in New Milford and Hopkins in lake waramog Connecticut.

This restaurant is so authentic You would think you are in Germany! From the theming, to the extremely elaborate German menu, the accordion player playing German music, The lederhosen the men are wearing and the dresses the women are wearing.

The owner and staff are so nice, everybody greeted me with a smile and a hello sir.

It took me 20 minutes to decide what I wanted to order as there was so many amazing choices that I had growing up.
The moment I sat down they brought a nice German salad and cheese. I ordered the potato pancakes andI decided on the Sauerbraten with spaetzle. Came with really nice carrots and amazing sauerkraut. One of the best I've ever had and that's saying a lot! Additionally I need to note that all the meals were under 30 bucks, today's day and age that's completely unheard of!

This place is an absolute gem! Sadly the German population in Connecticut has dwindled significantly since my childhood and there are almost no true German restaurants left in the state.

If you like German, European or just really great food, definitely check this place out. Can't wait to come for the Oktoberfest next month. The owner explained what they do and it's going to be like a true Octoberfest in Germany!
