Nice staff but good isn't good at all I gave this place 4 tries and now that's it. Very bland tasteless. Idk if this is real Jamaican food and patties taste store bought not freshly made
Cool. Runings
Food was okay, but number for the restaurant does not work and I was missing my patties with the order.
She’s a little rough around the edges but foods great. I had ackee and salt fish. More salt fish than ackee but very tasteful.
I like this place, wen I first stop in,due to the fact I was working in that area,I enjoyed every bit of my meal, especially the cabbage everything is season just right
Jackie is such a sweet lady with delish food, if you havnt had the mac and cheese yet its a must
Run..dont walk to this place. Oxtails dry..lots of loose bones. Rice was so blend it was tasteless. I ordered extra gravy..that never came. Paid $ 27.00. And regretted it. Not recommended. Pix are deceitful.
If they let me put 0 stars I would the food is dry oxtail have no meat just fat, the servings consist of a tray of rice!! Never again will I go back there
Had food delivered on a cold day from this place, peppered steak and peas, Jamaican patties, and an addictive almond cake. Everything came warm, nicely wrapped, and DELICIOUS ? ?
Bought an oxtail meal. Oxtail was good, cabbage was good, rice n peas had a great flavor which most don't.

First off, I’m not sure how this is “Jamaican” food. The cabbage was watered down with NO FLAVOR,mac&cheese was dry and awful. The rice had no flavor at all and was dry. My”oxtails” were spicy but lacked flavor, I was sad because they were huge and went to waste with the awful flavoring on them.
The stew chicken wasn't chopped up as should and any Jamaican know that and the rice and peas was orange (the rice should have a pink color from cooking with the pickney beans). It looked like Spanish rice with little to no peas.
I think this food is great! The service is friendly! Nice and clean as well! Real authentic Jamaican food. Just because they do not speak patwa 24-7 doesn’t mean they aren’t real Jamaicans lol the owner was born and raised in Jamaica just an FYI. Also, If you want seafood you just have to call ahead before heading to the restaurant. Great job! Don’t let any negativity stop you guys!
Delicious ?.... I have been in the ? for 2 weeks and I just wanted some good food. I’d never been to this place but it was pretty close to UConn Health Center and they had aKee & salt fish which is a ?? breakfast dish(hard to find). So I called to make sure they still had it because it was after 2pm. When I spoke to the woman & told her what I’d been through she assured me that the food would be to my liking and boy was it and I’m very picky, especially when it comes to ?? restaurants. Jackie’s Gourmet was fresh, still hot and it taste as if it was cooked especially for me rather than a giant pot of food made for a bunch of people like some places I experienced. Thank you, I’m definitely a new customer and will return when I’m discharged ?
great spicy jamaican curry although rice and peas were a little dry and needed coconut milk but all in all ill come again.
