The quality of food is low. The veggies looked like they were days old, I found a hair in my sub and they charged me 2 extra dollars to have it on a sub rather than another type of bread and there was no sign saying it was more. This place has gone down since under new management.

If you're in the area, popping your head into the Underground Deli is a good way to enjoy your lunch. Almost mandatory if you're a CCSU student. They're selection is wide, their quality is good, and their prices are fair. Plus there's ample room to relax

The sandwiches here are really good, but this is the 3rd time we have come by here after work to get some sandwiches and found this place closed between 45 minutes to an hour before they post that they close. We use to come here all the time when we went to Central years ago. It really is a great place to eat, but if it’s any later than 4pm or so during the week I’d say skip it, or at least call ahead. The last 3 times I’ve made the drive I’ve gotten to the door to see it locked with the lights off. Unfortunately a disappointing experience at a place I really do like to eat.

The vibe here is so chill. they have about 50 different sandwiches, video games and sofas. I come here when i have time. sandwich makers are always really nice and polite.

This place is a whole vibe!!!!! The set up is pretty awesome. The food is very taste; flavor pairings are pretty good. I ordered the ball and chain in a spinach wrap with Caesar pasta. Gone to CCSU my whole academic career (4 years +) and never knew they were here. I'll def. be back try many if their other cleaverly named sandwiches
What a hole in the wall gem! Kind of hidden, gotta look around the building the find it (back underside of where subway and dominos is). I'm not a CCSU student but if I was I would come here every day. With 48 different sandwich options, salads, etc- I could get something different all the time. Free delicious side with a sandwich. Great service and quick! Really good sandwich, we got the #21 Buff chic & #15 - really good stuff

Super convenient place to eat for students at central... also there’s a ton of options literally a whole walls worth.

I love this deli!!! It's been difficult finding subs and sandwiches, or shall I say "grinders" that are up to par in CT, but at the Underground, they have fresh breads of all kinds and pack their sandwiches so it's not all bready. My favorite is the Dominican, it has turkey, cheese, avocado, lettuce, bacon, double stacked on what bread. The bread is so fresh and it doesn't overpower the entire sandwich, there are enough ingredients so it's not all bread. They offer over 30 different sandwiches to choose from, so if you're indecisive like me, look at the menu ahead of time and pick out a few to narrow it down at least or you will be standing there all day reading their 30+ sandwich board. The space is cool and set downstairs, with some colored writing on the chalkboard walls and some games set up, it's def a cool place to chill for a lunch.

Still one of my favorite sandwich shops 5 years after graduation! My go-to was always the Jack Bower (can't believe they still make it) but recently I tried the Stacy's Stunner and that might be my new favorite! Staff is always friendly and helpful. They understand first timers will be overwhelmed so ask questions! Honestly, anything you order is a good choice!

SO GOOD. So many options (48?!) I want to try them all!
