Uncle Ben Jamaican Restaurant

If I could give 0stars I would. I ordered a large jerk chicken with rice and when I got home it smelled and tasted like fish. No jerk whatsoever and then got food poisoning from it. On top of that the manager was sitting in his car just watching the restaurant in the parking lot, couldn’t answer the phone the first time or to meet me when I returned the food like he asked for. He even said he didn’t know how to respond to my complaint. I told him I strongly advise to taste their food before selling it to customers especially for $15 a plate. Thank you uncle Ben

Ordered a ackee and sailfish and got all ackee and peppers with a hint of saltfish

I just left uncle Ben’s and they forfeited service because the food was not up to par!! A customer came to order a patty and it looked burnt, the young lady came back to tell the customer they didn’t have any patties. The customers left without buying anything but they could have sold the food just to get the money yet they didn’t!!! Awesome service!! The young ladies at the counter were friendly, soft spoken and patient. Plus the food is good!!

There food is wonderful. Don't believe the low reviews. I recommend there pepper steak 🥩

I found this Jamacian spot while visiting a friend in New Britain. The food is really good, and the service is good. it's in a plaza downtown.

We had the fry fish and the oxtail. I must say that the fish was the best that I've had in Connecticut; well seasoned and tender. The oxtail was delicious as well. We just missed having some fried plantain.

Tried it today for the first time. The food was really good. Oxtail just like how I would make it at home, pasta was good too.

i like this place. their rice is the best i’ve tried from a restaurant and all of their meat dishes are cooked perfectly. they’re fast and give good portions.

No where to sit, EXTREMELY RUDE STAFF THAT WHERE SERVING THEMSELVES BEFORE THE CUSTOMER. They ignored me when I walked in and started mocking me in Jamaican patois not realizing I I’m Jamaican & understood everything they said.
The food was overpriced, overcooked, oily and tasteless.

Needless to say, I won’t be returning.

They have some of the best Jamaican food. I've tasted from a Jamaican to go restaurant in Connecticut. However, the customer service kinda sucks and they're very expensive, so I hope you have a deep pocket on payday

Their closing hours are 10 pm Monday to Saturday and 8 pm on Sunday
