We went in for lunch with expectations that this would be a nice place to stop for some Greek food while in the area. The location is very unassuming at the end of a strip mall. We were greeted and sat down and we began looking at the menu. There were only two other small groups when we got there. The waitress was very friendly and got us drinks right away. We noticed the prices were pretty high compared to other Greek restaurants we’ve been to, but figured if the food was really good it would be worth it. We ordered some calamari as a starter ($16) and I ordered a gyro and a homemade lemonade and my wife got the chicken and fig flatbread. It took about 15 minutes for the calamari to come out and when we saw it, we were less than impressed. It was a tiny portion that you could tell was overcooked by looking at it and when we tried it, it was verified. I also think the round pieces were previously frozen and they may have freshly cooked the tentacles as they seemed to have a different coating and were all separate on the plate.Once we finished the calamari, it took another 15-20 minutes to receive our entrees. The waitress was very nice and apologized for the wait. When they got us, they were again, very lackluster. The gyro was ok, but nothing special and my wife’s flatbread was nothing special. The bulgur salad she chose to accompany the flatbread was very bland. All in all, everything was highly overpriced for the portions and quality of what we received. The food wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t great. If the price point was lower for the food that was received, it would have been more appropriate, but $60 (before tip) for an average meal was disappointing. It won’t be a place we’ll be back to when we’re in the area.

Everything really was great from start to finish. The staff was friendly, welcoming and attentive. The cocktails were delicious and so were both meals. Highly recommend the Greca paella and if they have the skirt steak on the special list, get it!

While the food is decent. We felt that it didn't offer value for money.I value quality over quantity. But not where it feels like cost cutting at my expense.A kids meal with 4 little pieces of skewered chicken on a dry pitta with some lukewarm fries on the side for $13 didn't feel like it was made with care.I dont mind paying the prices, but it felt stingy.I am being generous at 3 stars, especially seeing other reviews saying the same, but I'd like to see a restaurant read this and recognize that its close to being a great experience, but such obvious cost cutting is going to lose you customers. And for the record I have eaten at a lot of Greek restaurants all over the country and have been to the Greek Islands several times. I have had legit Greek food.Make me feel like I am at a Greek grandmothers house and you'll have a customer forever. So far I'm at 0 for 2 with this place. If I see the reviews improve I'll give it another shot. But not until then.

Our visit to Greca Mediterranean Kitchen + Bar proved to be a most welcome (and unexpected) event. In contrast to the usual "mediterranean fusion" restaurant (complete with predictable menus composed of popular Italian and Greek dishes cooked as fast food) Greca Mediterranean Kitchen + Bar leads with authentic Greek dishes.Located in Northwest Central Connecticut in a strip mall between the town center of New Milford (worth a walkaround before your meal. Be sure to check out the vintage World War 1 tank prominently placed in the mall) and the town of Kent, Greca Mediterranean Kitchen + Bar offers the "real deal" Greek Cuisine. This was our first visit to the restaurant. We opted to sample the appetizer list including the Meze Trio (we chose Tzatziki, Hummus Fava, and Melitzanosalata. Pita bread is included) - $17.00. A word on Melizanosalata: The standout is eggplant. During my visit to Targoviste, Romania this last summer I had an opportunity to sample the Romanian equivalent of this dish - Zacusca, and loved it.We also ordered Beets Scordalia due to the yellow beets at the center or the dish. The beets sit on what this restaurant calls "garlic potato spread" - a bed of a combination of lemon potatoes with small chunks of Feta cheese - $9.00. I asked our friendly waitress about the composition of the Feta cheese. I was surprised to hear Greca's Feta is made with Sheeps Milk - a rarity these days, not only here in the US, but also in Eastern Europe. If readers are fans of garlic, I would recommend requesting an extra helping. The garlic in our serving of Beets Scordalia was subdued - typical of most of the restaurants I have dined at over the last few years in the US.Tyrokafteri - $9 - was a standout, although the patties looked machine made, a clear point of difference with their Romanian cousins - Kefte. We selected Loukaniko - $15 - for its protein, & Ochtapodi (a favorite of ours going back to our visits to restaurants offering Greek cuisine located in Astoria, and Roslyn NY during the period of 2010 - 2021) - $23 -along with full appetizer course versions of Fava - $9, and Zucchini Keftedes - $13.Dessert included Baklava (made without recourse to syrup - ample crushed walnuts) and, I believe, Galaktoboureko.Greca Mediterranean Kitchen + Bar should be high on your list if you are looking for mouthwatering food while traveling in Northwest Central Connecticut.

Long wait for initial service....long wait for drinks.....did not get bread until The meals were served all though I requested it twice. The food was excellent but it was apparent that the you are understaffed. I will go back as I loved the food.....maybe next time will be better

Food was good. Hummus and pita appetizer was a bit light. At 5 pm they didn't know what the specials of the day was. Gyro platter was nicely done and salmon was a bit undercooked.

Service very slow. Food was extremely salty, gyro meat was cold... not a single veggie in the paella.... Somehow 3 kids and 2 adults (2 eating from kids menu) cost 145 $ before tip... very disappointed

The food is outstanding, and the setting is vibrant and festive. The restaurant draws a big crowd and for good reason. But there was a long wait for the cocktails, food and then the check. The server was excellent and worked very hard. I think the issue is understaffing. Given the restaurant's popularity and tremendous business, I think they should hire more servers.

I never made the effort to visit Mediterranean restaurants in the past due to some food allergies, but I am glad I got introduced to Greca, the food is outstanding, great service and ambiance. My wife and I went recently and had the Mediterranean Grille, mouth watering good! We took the kids back with us and they devoured it. The Saganaki Flambe (aka cheese on fire), was a hit too, we might need two orders of that next time if we take our son with. I’ve been there 5 times in the past year and excellent food food every time.If you are looking for something different than what you might be used to, Greca should be on your short list.Parking: It’s in the Big Y plaza, so plenty of parking, unless a snow storm is coming and the entire town is buying bread and milk.

Fabulous! We've been searching for a good Greek restaurant in CT for 23 years, and we finally found it! We dined on New Year's Eve, and despite being busy, reservations were a snap, and service was very attentive. We were warmly welcomed by our waiter, Dennis, who took us thru the menu and specials. We began with an assortment of dips & pita, all fresh & delicious. Then, because I love my cheese on fire, we shared a saganaki. It, and the sounds of OPA! took me back to a place called Diana's in Chicago. My wife had the moussaka - rich & creamy smooth-delicious. I had a board of gyro carvings with all the fixin's & seasoned potato fries with feta. We tried a dessert, whose name escaped me, but it was a honey infused shred of Philo under a light custardlike creme Francais that made our eyes roll back. Like Arnold says, "I'll be back."

First time dining here, and wow, we absolutely loved it. Hubs had avgholemono soup and greca salad. Both were delicious. I had zucchini keftedes and the scordalia bowl. The keftedes were a wee bit greasy - though tasted delicious - but everything in the scordalia bowl was amazing. I could literally eat it everyday. Greek yogurt with honey and walnuts for dessert is something I've never had (thinking breakfast), but OMG, I'm so glad we did. DELISH! Our server was lovely and the owner, who chatted with us several times, was very nice as well. Can't wait to go back.

A gem in Big Y shopping center, New Milford, CT. A cozy, Grecian atmosphere. Our waiter, Dennis, was very helpful explaining dishes we were not familiar with. My husband chose a Bolognese dish with Greek cheese. I think he inhaled it! ? I ordered poached salmon with cheesy, creamy noodles. The blend of flavors with the poached salmon made for a great first time experience. For dessert we had Ekmed. Another first time experience, that will be a go to dessert. Made with a baked, layered dough base, custard filling and topped with light whipped cream, pistachios, and cinnamon, in a lemon syrup. It was recommended by our waiter and did not disappoint. I recommend Greca Mediterranean Kitchen. I think you will too. ?

It was our first time and honestly it was not a great experience. The people were very friendly and engaging, the service was good, but the food was not. I ordered the spanakopita appetizer, and it was totally delicious right up the point that I found a long brown hair baked into the spinach and feta filling. My wife had the ochtapodi and it was very vinegary, like a pickle. The octopus itself was mushy and not very flavorful, and had no distinct flavor apart from the vinegar. The menu said the octopus was served with ladolemono which I expected to have a lemon flavor, but this wasn't that. It tasted like a red wine vinaigrette that wasn't well made. We had the calamari diavolo and the branzino for our mains. The pasta in the calamari dish was over cooked and the dish was under seasoned. The branzino was OK, but was a bit overdone. It was supposed to be served with ladolemono and capers, but neither were on the plate. Maybe in hindsight it was better without the ladolemono given how it tasted on the octopus.
