I was looking for some pastries for after dinner and a quick Google search I found this spot. With good reviews I was excited to stop in however I was quickly greeted by an unfriendly employee who seemed like I was a burden to be there. I asked a few questions in regards to a food allergy and was told she couldn't answer them because only the owner would know the ingredients. Nervous I ordered a few things I would hope didn't have any nuts in them but also decided not to serve them to my child with an allergy. I also ordered soup which probably was the best part but the flimsy wooden spoon it was served with was very unappealing. After dinner and excited to try the items we quickly realized they were over baked and stale tasting. This is a one and done for me unfortunately.

Such an amazing little gem tucked away in New Milford. Wish it was closer in town for their benefit. Everything is made with care, with such delicious pastries and drinks. Their food is on point, very reasonable and of the finest quality, made with care.Their service is super accommodating and friendly. When I feel like a treat for lunch or afternoon pastry it is the best around.

Coffee is watery. Bought a mixed berry tart from there but could not eat it. It was stuck to the paper and was an absolute mess. Complete waste if money.

A lot of great choices for sandwiches, bowls and baked goods. All at very reasonable prices. Pretty unassuming storefront, so don't be fooled as you walk by! Old fashioned chicken sandwich is on my short list now!

Food is delicious and creative. I had the naked tuna sandwich--a lovely balance of tuna, onion, Kalamata olives and dried cranberries. Instead of Mayo, avocado was used instead. Bread had the right chew and the right serving size, that is a good ratio of bread to filling. The sandwich was enough for two, if the two people also shared a soup or one of their pastries. My husband had tomato soup and grilled cheese with tomato soup. The tomato soup was outstanding and a twist on the standard recipe. There was a sweetness reminiscent of roasted red peppers, although there were none in the soup. There might have been a tough of red pepper flakes, too. The eat in experience is greatly diminished by the lack of decor/decoration. Nevertheless, I'd eat here again in a heart beat.

Tried this little place on a whim for lunch while feeling quite exhausted and just needing food. The reviews online said gluten free and since my husband cannot have gluten we decided to give it a go.The decor/aesthetic is very plain Jane BUT what's lacking in decor and ambiance is more than made up for in the food. The old fashioned chicken sandwich is the best sandwich I've had out in a long time. My husband had a turkey sandwich on gluten free bread and it was SO good! As we were eating we realized that more than half the pastries in the display case said gluten free, so we got several things to go - and last minute decided to snag an iced latte - which was also delicious10/10 will be back. Fantastic lunch at a incredibly fair priceDietary restrictions: My husband is celiac and is having no symptoms of cross contamination of gluten despite this being a bakery. Which means we willd def be back

I stopped in to see what goodies I could find. Wow, what beautiful pastry! I ended up getting a blueberry scone and a French cream filled doughnut. The scone was amazing! Tons of blueberries and so buttery. The French donut was unlike any other donut I've had. The pastry cream was rich and delicious and it was definitely memorable! I will be back!

We ordered take out for a photoshoot event in New Milford.. A discerning crowd of people. The sandwiches were made that morning, fresh with lots of flavor. The avocado toast was perfectly assembled. Also ordered lots of pastry and sweets which were well received. Pleased to find this Organic kitchen in New Milford.

Though this cafe offers food alternative options… the service is the worst service I’ve experienced. I stopped in for a quick TO-GO sandwich before work and had to wait 45 minutes to receive it. With no apologies from staff or attentiveness to my order. It wasn’t even busy and my sandwich was dry and over priced. River and Rail is far more worth it.
