We did the coffee class with Jon and it was out of this world. We learned a bunch and had a blast. I didn’t imagine it being as fantastic as it was, but I truly recommend anyone try the coffee class with Jon. It was phenomenal.

We took the coffee cupping class this morning and it was so fun and informative. The owner was so knowledgable and passionate about what he was teaching. There's so much that goes in to a good quality cup of coffee and he was excited to share some of his knowledge with the class. After we learned different roasts and different beans, the group roasted our own to take home. After the class, we got to browse the store too and bought with some olive oil (try the basil - wow!) and vinegars, candies, peanut butter and of course, a few pounds of coffee. Can't wait to go back for gifts!

My now husband and I have long enjoyed popping in to BD provisions to purchase unique, local, and eco-friendly gifts for each other as well as for our loved ones. Some of our favorite items are their peanut butters, granola, and chocolate covered pretzels. We have gifted cocktail mixes, teas, dips, and more. Two weeks before our wedding in July, we decided we wanted to add another local tribute to our home state when putting our welcome bags together.
Cynthia from BD Provisions was prompt, professional, and more than willing to make sure that the 55 bags of chocolate covered pretzels we requested were ready in less than one week. She even put together a sample bag with the draft label and white bow and sent us a picture prior to moving forward with putting together the rest of the bags. It was a very thoughtful gesture and we knew we were in good hands.
Two days before we were expecting our wedding guests to check into the room block, we were told that additional wedding guests had booked rooms at the hotel. My husband decided to drive over to BD to package 10 more chocolate covered pretzel bags himself, thinking that two days before the wedding, we would have to do without the detailed packaging for the remaining guests. When he stepped into the store, Cynthia recognized him from picking up the order the week before, and immediately offered to run to assemble the bags with a bow, making sure that all of our wedding guests were equally cared for.
This was a huge testament to how caring of a business BD Provisions is. We are so grateful for their thoughtfulness and look forward to continuing to support them in the future!

What a fun place. Lots of barrels of nuts, grains, candy. You can grind your own coffee beans too. Lots of choices. They also have some gift ideas and packages. Salted, unsalted nuts and gluten free grain all available. It's a must try.

Beautiful store but my only complaint is that there is not enough organic selections. Can you please offer more organic options? Otherwise, I’m so happy that there’s a zero plastic waste bulk food store!

Cannot say enough good things about BD Provisions in Newtown, this is a place that I will be certainly revisiting again soon! The owners and staff are so friendly and helpful. This bulk store has coffee roasting, fresh nut butters, local honey, vinegars, bulk baking (including GF) and so much more! We love their focus and mission on sustainability– You can shop using the mason jars and return them the next time to have them cleaned. Every Saturday if you go into the store, you’ll catch their coffee roasting in action, which is always cool to see. They offer a wide variety of gift options and packaging, which I couldn’t recommend more upcoming celebrations. They will help you create it or you can put it together yourself too. There is plenty of parking and they also have later hours to swing by after work (located right off of the Main Street).
