I’m going to go out on a very obvious limb and say Lucas Local is one of my fav restaurants in CT so far. There was only one other place that served top notch oysters prior to this, and I think we almost want to give this one to Lucas only because of their weekly specials.
Because we have gone a few times, we were able to have the tuna poke oyster, and another variety with Sriracha and crispy shallots. We’ve also had other food varieties, including their lobster, roll those cold and hot and the hot lobster rolls probably one of my favorite that I’ve had in CT as well. Very generous portions, very clean seafood.
The delightful desserts are to die for very creative and very comforting .
The bartenders and staff are also quite attentive and engaging and really on top of their games. Highly recommend a visit.

We arrived there for our reservation at 4:00 on Wednesday, 5/29/24, only to find that the restaurant had permanently closed their doors the Sunday before! Very disappointed. We had been there before and it was very good.

Our favorite restaurant in Southbury, we recently discovered their brunch menu on Mother's Day. Excellent chicken & waffles, mimosas and bloody marys, and the best sticky buns we have ever had. Sadly, the restaurant is closing this location due to rent dispute. We are very hopeful that the owner will find another location in town very soon.

It was our first time at this restaurant. Food was great and service was pretty decent. We unfortunately did not know this restaurant was closing its doors permanently the day after we had dinner there. So as far as this review, I guess it will be irrelevant. It's a shame this place is closing, I honestly can't understand why- the place was crowded and food was excellent.

I think it's the best seafood around so much better than other restaurants in this class it's seafood so it's not cheap but well worth it wish I could eat here weakly

The food was good but overpriced. I wasn't even served bread even though I ordered both appetizer and entree. The pasta dish should have had more shellfish in it especially for the price

The initial service was a little slow, but afterwards it was excellent. The dining room is in the bar area so it was a little noisy. The food was excellent.I had the swordfish and my wife had linguini with clams ( there must have been a dozen clams on the half shell!). We will definitely be back. Looking forward to Happy Hour.

Bar service was okay but I ordered a cocktail which was measured. I'm okay with the premise of measured drinks but the bartender only partially filled the jogger on each side. Felt like I was cheated. In regard to ambience, bar area and the couple of tables behind are good, the tables stretching down the right side seemed like a bowling alley. Food was very good
Overall the experience was wonderful. Our oysters were divine, the special polenta fries I will die and resurrect for if it comes to it. Server was great and the ambiance was casual but somewhat elegant
Good food. Good service. Great local restaurant. Pork belly app was excellent. Scallop rosella was excellent. Coastal dish with lobster, shrimp, and linguini was tasty but just ok. Minimal lobster and a few shrimp. A bit disappointing.

What a treat. Best ever mussels which were prepared in a pesto sauce. They were an appetizer but so rich and filling they could have been an entree for me. The grilled salmon was also memorable. First visit but not the last!

Oysters are fresh-delivered EVERY DAY. Always a great variety. Sad we couldn't get the NE Clam Chowder - the clam delivery was late that day, so it wasn't ready. :(. Yes, made in-house. Just another reason to return. The lobster cocktail is amazing! Christine was our OUTSTANDING waitstaff-we've never had anything but exceptional service here. We love Lucas Local!
