Probably the best Mexican I’ve had in Connecticut, authentic flavors, everything is made fresh the day of, fantastic service. Absolutely love their food, it’s a family favorite, not too fancy but not extremely casual, nice atmosphere, great staff.

AUTHENTIC and Delicious and I am picky! This place is elegant, yet casual. The waitperson I had was very enthusiastic and cheerful, not to mention the food was very tasty. The sauce that I had was a tomatillo for the tacos and the elote (corn with spices), was out of thos world! Definitely will be back and often!

Our first time at Mexcla. The staff was super friendly but did not hover. Our server was a very kind, laid back yet attentive young man. Food is excellent. It’s like having Abuela cooking in the kitchen. Drinks are great. Makes Taco Barn and Taco Dia seem like Taco Bell. Out of all the Mexican food around the surrounding towns Mexcla is the Best!

Highly recommend Mexcla restaurant. The staff is so friendly. The bar area is perfect for meeting up with friends for a drink and chips. The guacamole was some of the best we have ever had. We shared the Hawaiian fajitas and the Molcajete dish (carne asada, chorizo, chicken and shrimp in a red sauce) Both meals were outstanding. My Merry Margarita was perfection. Mexcla has become our new favorite place in Newtown.

Such a beautiful hidden gem!! Happen to find this place by accident on Google and the pictures do not do it justice. The food was absolutely delicious. The specialty cocktail menu was to die for. The service was impeccable and in total the entire decor of the restaurant was absolutely breathtaking. We found our new hidden date night spot. You have to go try it!!
