I frequent Daltons. I drive from Wallingford. They are not consistent anymore. I went today and the bread crust was hard as a rock. I told the waitress and she brought softer crusted bread. Pasta faggiole excellent as always. Usually get salmon Daltons but tonight was salty. Ate a small portion because I was stuffed. My mouth as salty for hours. I took home the rest but I don’t think I’ll eat it. I didn’t say anything to waitress. I didn’t want to be one of THOSE customers who complains too much. Then I texted my sister while I was there and she said Daltons is hit or miss with her. That is unacceptable to me. I stop going to inconsistent restaurants. It’s a shame. Wallingford has few restaurants that are not chain fast food . I’ll no longer go to daltons .

Something not quite right about this place.
The portions are ridiculous. The tomato sauce tasted so sweet it was barely edible.
It was so far removed from Italian dining it's hard to really say what it was..

Not sure what is going on at Daltons but I had a bad meal last night. It was a chicken dish and there was hardly any chicken on the dish. Last month when we were there, we were told other people were waiting for our table as they were trying to rush us out. We have been coming here for years but it has changed.
Fantastic dinner, ordered the specials. Braised short rib with shrimp and string beans over risotto also ordered sword fish with lobster sauce over risotto. Both were amazing. Great evening.

Living right down the street from here for 20+ years. First time here. Everything from the first moment we walked in was perfect. Great vibe, exceptional food. We can't wait to go back.

What an excellent experience. The restaurant is a bit on the small side with bar seating and a dining area. I recommend you try to get reservations to ensure you get in. We started dinner with some amazing Italian bread served with some garlic chimichurri sauce, it was delicious. For or entrees I had the ribeye special served with spinach and asparagus which was cooked at a perfectly medium rare temperature. My girlfriend had the special veal and pork ragú over ravioli. She loved it. Or meals were so good, we highly recommend. To end the evening we had the stuffed chocolate churros. Personally, I could have gone with just simple churros (no chocolate) but it was good. The service was excellent, she did a great job of answering or questions and providing suggestions. We will definitely be back.

We were glad we made reservations. It was a Friday night and it was a full house. We were seated at a table for four. Dalton's has mainly booths and banquettes for seating. We ordered stuffed scallops wrapped in bacon as an appetizer. These were tender and melt-in-your mouth consistency with crisp bacon- a nice start. A generous dinner salad is served with each entree, dressed in a vinaigrette dressing. All the dishes we ordered were well prepared and presented. Portions are ample. I especially enjoyed my special of short ribs, served with a wine sauce, garnished with lots of brussels sprouts, and a nice, creamy side of risotto. An ample selection of wines by the glass is available. This included a Montepulciano, which paired nicely with the short ribs. Desserts are ample portions. We split churros which were filled with chocolate sauce and served with whipped cream. Noise level was tolerable and allowed for conversation. The space itself is quaint and comfortable. Despite the full house, service was cordial, prompt, and professional- didn't miss a beat! We will most certainly return.
