We’ve been really hesitant about leaving a review, but one of the biggest bummers from our wedding was our cake. We went with J cakes because a family member of ours had their wedding cake done the year previous to our wedding (a few weeks ago) and thought it was amazing when we had it at their wedding. We got the exact same cake for our wedding and it did not taste that fresh and there was barely any filling. The decor (vintage piping) came out beautiful and it photographed well, but considering the cake was over $1K and the buttercream frosting tasted bland with barely any filling-disappointed is an understatement.

I ordered cupcakes for my baby shower that were out of this world. The shower was a month ago and I’m still getting texts asking where the cupcakes were from. Ordering the cupcakes was a breeze. The vanilla cupcakes with strawberry filling were the best I ever had and the chocolate cupcakes were phenomenal. They were also beautifully decorated for the Winnie the Pooh theme but I failed to take any good pictures. 10/10 would recommend.

My husband and I got married in February of 2025 and we were lucky enough to work with JCakes through a winter wedding package at the venue we got married at (The Woodwinds in Branford, CT). The cake tasting was absolutely delightful as was the actual wedding cake itself! We were able to choose three different tier cake and filling options. We chose chocolate cake with chocolate ganache, vanilla cake with fruit filling, and chocolate cake with cream cheese filling. All of the tiers were absolutely incredibly delicious and the cake was almost too beautiful to eat. We chose snowflake piping to fit our winter wedding theme and it was stunning. The bakery made the entire process fun, simple, and the cakes decisions were truly the easiest decisions throughout the wedding process. We highly recommend this bakery!

It didn't take long for us to realize that JCakes had to be the bakery to make our cake. They had the most flavorful and moist cakes and their fillings and frosting were to die for! They also have talented decorators who were able to create my dream wedding cake.
We were able to choose different cake flavors and fillings for each tier, which was helpful since we loved every single flavor we tried at the tasting! The final product was as delicious as the samples we had tasted and as beautiful as we imagined! I am still getting compliments on our unique and delicious cake!
My wedding cake was included with my venue's package, so JCakes charged what was included to my vendor which was the majority of the cake, and I paid for any details that were extra (one of the cake flavors and fondant design).
We highly recommend JCakes for any occasion, but they are the ultimate bakery for wedding cakes!

The team really listened to what I wanted and executed the design perfectly, as well as worked seamlessly with my venue & florist on the day of. JCakes does not fall into the category of style over substance, like some wedding cake vendors. Instead, the impeccable design is married perfectly with a moist yet light sponge, fillings that hit the perfect balance of being sweet enough without being too sweet, & frosting that is perfectly smooth. I cannot say enough great things!

Cake tasting employees were very rude and the tasting compared to other places was very cheap. 1 small slice vanilla 1 small slice chocolate cake and then fillings and frosting were in tiny cups. Made experience horrible. Thought maybe it was a bad day for them but when I returned again to get some cupcakes, employees were very rude yet again. Also I was not a fan of how they did the filling on my wedding cake.
