We love Freund’s so much. We visit from the West Coast every year. It is the highlight of the start of our Berkshires adventure. We stock up with local fresh eggs straight from the farm, our favorite cheeses, fresh local produce, and on-site baked goods. When we arrived, Rachel (one of the owners) was putting out fresh apple cider donuts. We could smell them the minute we walked in! We highly recommend Freund’s.
So…you can see them in the background of their current profile pic..the TOMATOES!! These are THIER OWN TOMATOES! Obviously, here we sit, it’s June 19th, these have to be greenhouse tomatoes. Now, don’t get me wrong, nothin wrong with a greenhouse tomato, but, given the choice, I’d take a sun-ripened field tomato over a greenhouse tomato 8 days a week! These tomatoes are awesome! They cut and eat like field tomatoes! Tomatoes make me happy…and I thought I wasn’t going...
The BESTEST cider donuts I have ever had! Crunchy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside, just the right amount of sugar... not too sweet. I visited in the winter, it was snowing a little bit, but cannot wait to come back in the Spring and Summer when they will be offering plants and veggies. The Chicken Pot Pie is so delicious and there are just so many things to try, worth another visit!
