Great place for breakfast, whether you carry away or eat it there. They open at 6:30 a.m., and prepare the food super fast. The breakfast sandwiches are fantastic, with fresh ingredients including buttery brioche rolls if you want to indulge.

Extremely friendly service.

Came here during my vacation on the beach. Worst service I’ve ever had. Burger was PINK when I asked for it to be well done. The blonde younger waitress/ice cream server just STARED at me like I had 2 heads when asked to recook it and said “well it looks fine to me they usually have a little pink in them” I told her I don’t want any pink and It finally clocked to her to ask the cook to recook it and she comes back with just a burger and threw my fries away. When asked for my fries she said I didn’t give her fries, when indeed I handed her the whole tray and yet she stared at me and my fiancé as if we did something wrong when asking for our fries. Please teach your staff customer service and manners.

Very good. Best Fried Shrimp I’ve ever had! My onion rings soaked up too much oil though, my dad got the curly fries with his meal and those came out very good. Clam chowder was very good too, not the best I’ve ever had, but a very good bowl! I think they have a decent lobster roll, my brother got it and enjoyed it, but it looked like it should have had more lobster for a $35 roll. Prices are out of control over the past few years, but i understand owners have to cover costs. Overall food was good. Very friendly staff and clean picnic tables. Ice cream was great as well. Would stop again next time I’m back in Old Lyme.

Excellent breakfast — egg sandwiches on brioche rolls were great. My husband had the tidal smash and it was also delicious. Hashbrown patties that kids love. We often come for grilled cheese and fish tacos and ice cream and outdoor seating… but now they are open for breakfast too, 6:30-10:30. Highly recommend!

Just stopped by at Hallmark for breakfast and was very impressed with the selection of options! Highly recommend the “Tidal Wave Smash” on a brioche bun. Just devoured mine and wish I ordered two! Staff was very friendly and even gave us a Macchiato on the house! Will definitely be going back next time in the area.

Every time I try to go here they close early. They close down 15+ minutes before their scheduled closing time.

Everytime I have ordered here, the service has been SLOW - food has been just overall okay. It’s also pricey. I have had their burgers, chicken sandwich & fries. The burgers were modest in size - similar to a McDonalds regular cheeseburger -
I found them to be flavorless. Possibly frozen patties? Unfortunately well done - staff did not ask me how I wanted it cooked. Their chicken breast on a brioche bun was def better - but mine had no LTOP on it which I thought was odd. So ensure you request EVERYTHING you want on your sandwiches including condiments. There wasn’t a condiment stand anywhere in sight & staff never mentioned it. The thin fries were okay but not freshly cooked. Staff are younger, & friendly. I have not had their ice cream, shakes or sundaes. Old Lyme is not a great area for food unfortunately but I have heard great things about The Hangry Goose, Papi’s, The Old Lyme inn & Sapore. This place is just okay. It’s not bad but the food, service & prices have repeatedly been underwhelming. Reviews are meant to communicate customer experiences. This was MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. While I understand having younger inexperienced staff, maybe the mgmt should consider spending more time hiring capable staff & training the inexperienced staff instead of spending time online criticizing & blaming customer’s for their mistakes. Most service industry professionals would have graciously suggested the customer return to try their restaurant again. The Mgmt clearly has no idea how to run a restaurant - particularly accepting accountability for mistakes and respectfully managing customer issues.
