Lin's Kitchen has been, without a doubt, the most authentic Chinese restaurant I've come across during my many years in Connecticut. Whether it's for birthdays, anniversaries, or special holidays, this is always my top choice. The dishes here are truly authentic, far beyond the level of typical takeout places. I genuinely love the food here, and it's the reason I confidently recommend it to friends.

Best and most flavorful food. We enjoy the spicy dishes- the soft shell crab was outstanding. Everything was delicious
The regular restaurant we go was closed on Mondays, so I stopped by Lin’s since they had good reviews. We will never get food from there again. I sat in the parking lot & called in the order since they’ll only accept online or phone orders and did not allow customers in the restaurant. Was told the order would be ready in 25-30 minutes. It took 45 minutes. Was asked what menu I was looking at because the prices had gone up during Covid. Cost was still off from the paper menu & the online prices-FALSE ADVERTISING. Although the food was good, it was not worth the money, the wait time & service was ridiculous, and the random pricing is sketchy. Will not be a return customer under any circumstances.

We have been going to Lin’s Kitchen for many years and are never let down. When we’re coming from LI or the airport we always go to Flushing, Chinatown in NYC when we are there. In the New Haven area we have Taste of China, Chef Jiang but Lin’s Kitchen is our favorite and worth the drive every time. Great authentic dishes, Szechuan selections. So delicious. Highly recommend.

There are some exceptionally good dishes here at this take-out only. Authentic Chinese with an attitude (which serves the overall experience). Don’t try to rush these people. And don’t expect Fortune Cookies. But never disappointing. Love the orange chicken and cold noodle salad. Excellent wonton soup.

Tasteless food, service was slow and unfriendly, with unfair & deceptive pricing. There was just a single waitress/owner. Very greasy food that was way over priced. The menu prices are NOT correct. After we ordered, owner disclosed that menu prices are pre covid, and current prices are higher (but not shown anywhere). When the bill came, it was at least 35 to 40% higher than menu price. For instance, soup for two was marked for $11.99, but got charged at $16.99. Worst of all, a tip of 15% got automatically added to the bill, for a party of only two people. It was rude and insulting. Reporting the place to consumer protection agency for deceptive pricing tactics. Avoid this place.

*editI think something that can accurately describe this place is your visiting someone’s home who have opened it to share their food with others. It’s a husband and wife team and the food here is exceptional, authentic Szechuan fare, with some American Chinese food staples done very very well. It feels a little like your intruding at first, but soon you are family and enraptured by the fantastic food. Do yourself a favor and try the Chengdu Pork Dumplings in Red Chili Oil and Deep-fried Spicy Chicken.END OF EDITThe food I have had here is pretty good, so I’ll give them the stars, but the service here is terrible. Don’t walk in and try to order, even just take out, they will act like you offended them. The restaurant was empty, no one person there. They wouldn’t seat me, which is fine, but I asked the order take out and they said one order would take a long time and I was better to not order.Their attitude is hostile at best, my worst experience was just straight up rude. Hopefully they change their system, they make it hard to eat here.
Brought my son and his teammate here after a game to get takeout because it was on the way home from a game and they would not allow my son to use the bathroom because of we had no reservation but they absolutely did take our money. Poor service! Extremely unprofessional. Patrons of your business should at least be able to use the bathroom even if they don’t have a sit down reservation. We will never be back here again. My advice to you is treat customers better. In this economy anyone wanting to spend money at your establishment should be treated with respect. Do better!

Restaurantji Recommends
1. you must make reservations
2. mysterious, creepy atmosphere — locked front door and blacked out windows
3. terrible service; waitress is rude and has a bad attitude
4. dishes took forever to come, even though there were very few customers
5. bowls are tiny
6. bathroom toilet paper is thinner than kleenex tissues
The food tasted good, the only thing that was a bit disappointing was the spicy chicken, which was fried very dry. The proprietress who serves outside is a bit confusing. She doesn't know how to communicate with others. She keeps walking around anxiously in the kitchen and outside. I suggest the boss lady recruit more people, or pray for nothing, hoping this can alleviate her anxiety.

Although the food here was actually very good, I'm not sure I'll dine here again. When you come to the front door you have to ring the door bell for them to open it for you. Once inside the room was so gloomy and dark that you're not sure if they really are open for business. We were then told that the prices of the menu were all incorrect, and the prices are higher now as indicated on their website...!? The Taiwanese beef stew noodle soup was good, but should just be called beef stew noodle soup. A few of the soup dumplings were stuck together that as you pick them apart so goes the soup. The beef ho fun was very small in portion. So.. yeah.

Nice place, good service and food. Lunch menu was light on on vegan options but we could order off the dinner menu. The best broccoli, ever.Uncrowded at lunchtime.
