If I could give zero stars I would. We went here for the first time for lunch. Our server came over and took our order. My husband ordered the fish and chips and I ordered the stir fry with rice noodles and shrimp. Our food came out. You could immediately SEE the fries were cold.
The fish was hot and flaky. The stir fry sauce was very salty which I could have dealt with if the rice noodles were cooked correctly...some were mushy and some were crunchy (like when you cook pasta and it sits out). Do they pre cook it? We called the server over who took both plates back. He then brought us the check with a dissatisfaction discount. Taking our bill from about $50
Down to $27. I asked to see the manager. That's when I realized he was the person who brought out the food. I asked him how he could bring out a plate with cold fries and he said I dont touch the food. You could see they were cold. I asked if he saw that both meals were sent back almost in their entirety. His response was no, I didn't look. He was just told there was an issue. He seemed totally uninterested and was trying to walk away while I was still speaking. He picked up the check (which is why I dont have a picture of exactly what the discount was called) and walked away saying you're all set. My husband said I will pay for my beer. But he just walked away. We left a tip on the table for our server based on the original bill and left. Horrible experience made worse by how it was handled .

I love the duck!! My favorite is their French Onion Soup but there are so many cool comfort foods. Cool bar area with an upper section. The Sitting Duck won’t disappoint.

Went with a friend that I haven’t seen in over eight years. It was so good to reconnect. Loved the food. Everything was delicious. Wasn’t a rowdy place. Tables were well spaced out as I use a rollator to get about and there was plenty of space to maneuver. No handicapped doors were installed which was bad because doors are heavy but seems people are kind when they see me so they hold a door for me. The parking is also not good because whichever company/contractor thought up the plans for this place made the aisles to go only one way in, and one way out. Not too well lit at night and the signs don’t reflect much so at least you’d be able to follow a clear direct path to your destined spot. Too many shops one on top of the other. They just felt too close. They could’ve done a better job of the construction. If you go more toward the back of the restaurant for additional unpaved parking you feel like you’re at some beach and you need to be careful especially if you can’t see at night like I sure as heck can’t, don’t go back there. They made this parking area but it’s surrounded by these huge boulders that you have to be very careful maneuvering around them or you will bang your car up. The sidewalks were made in little cement style tiles, not your regular tiles where you can walk easier. The tiles didn’t agree with my rollator’s tires. It was bumpy maneuvering. Besides that, all else was great as I stated.

Parking: I have also described the parking in my larger overall review.

Kid-friendliness: You have room for children just keep them with you please. Common sense.

Wheelchair accessibility: You have space as I stated in my big review but no accessible doors.

Visited family over the weekend and ended up at the Sitting Duck Tavern in Oxford. We had a fantastic meal ordering off the Oktoberfest menu. We started out with the calamari (hot pepper style). Very good and a good portion. My only thought was that it was served with a tomato sauce and I would have preferred a sweet and sour type sauce to enhance the hot peppers. For my entre I ordered the Schweinshaxen Rotkhol which is a Pork Shank served with mashed potatoes and red apple cabbage. I couldn't have been happier with selection. The shank was hot and tendor. I was in my glory.

The other 3 members of my party ordered Figgy Schnitzel Sandwich which was is a pork cutlet over a warm pretzel bune with fig jam, arugula, and cheese. They couldn't say enough about their entrees.

This is a chain style restaurant and there are no sites in my state. I am sure that the next time we are in CT, we will stop by for a meal. I highly recommend this site.

Tonight was one of the better experiences I’ve had at Sitting Duck in a while, but as much as I try, I just can’t get myself to love it. The food is typically average - the toast in the French onion soup was a little burnt-tasting, and I thought my grilled cheese could’ve been a lot cheesier. Some items are better than others, but it always has us wanting more from the experience. The water had a weird taste and even the sprite was flat. It’s a good spot if you’re looking to watch the game and have some drinks.
