Had a great lunch at Sitting Duck Tavern today. The decor is dark but interesting. Our server was fantastic. I had fish and chips and a peach Sangria. Yes, they do have malt vinegar! Great beer batter, lots of fries, good slaw. The serving size was very generous and I took about half of it home. Hubby had a beer and the chicken sandwich, he ate every bite. They serve local craft beers.

Such a disappointment for my 11 year old's birthday dinner last night. Definitely not the place to go if you want it to be celebratory. We notified the waitress of the birthday but she didn't offer to put a candle in anything for us. (The is not the end of the world, just disappointing.)What was most annoying is that my son and I ordered The Birdcage upon recommendation. It was dry, with an uneven and small dot of "aoli" (pretty sure it was just Hellman's). So I asked if it would be possible to get a little more. When we got the bill, they had added another dollar for the mayo without warning. I will definitely not be returning nor will I recommend. I don't like to be nickeled and dimed for mediocre food.

The sitting duck was amazing! Been there multiple times before and every time was met with great service and delicious food. Tonight we went for me and my sister's birthday. Fast service and the food was perfect temperature and had no complaints. Would definitely recommend. It was quite loud due to St. Patrick's Day the next day but besides that, no complaints.

Went to dinner on a Saturday night at the Sitting Duck Tavern with my son. Realized the outside didn't hint at the spacious interior. Creative seating options and layout. No wait, despite having most of the seats filled. Menu offered a nice range of selections providing options for any palate or preference, including vegan. The 3 way Calamari as a starter was amazing, tender, and light. The main meal choice for me was Sitting Duck Burger with cheese; perfect cooked as ordered. The quality of the meat is apparent with the first bite. A choice of fries or side salad included. It was more food than I expected. It would satisfy each of my boys or anyone who's exceptionally hungry ? lol. My son was happy with his Mexacali Bowl with added blackened chicken. He finished it. ✅️ The prices were in line with the exceptional quality of the food. I recommend checking out their menu online. You'll note in addition to appetizers they offer small plates, no commitment to order complete meals. If the menu descriptions appeal to your tastes, it's worth your time and hard earned money to treat yourself to Sitting Duck Tavern in Oxford.Parking: Depending on the day and time of the week - meaning Friday or Saturday - you may have to park and walk a bit to reach front entrance. This location is part of a structure with other stores. Many patrons have to park in the back. Needing to walk a fair distance may affect those with mobility issues either permanent (needs wheelchair or other assistive device for long term mobility) or temporary (like using crutches after surgery or injury). With rain or snow best to drop person(s)off at entrance and park car.Kid-friendliness: Did see a family with older kids during last visit at Sitting Duck Tavern. Not sure what you would order for younger children given the menu which seems tailored for adults along with the quantity and prices. If I couldn't finish my SD Burger... I'd call & ask about bringing younger children and menu items before going with them.

Friendly and cordial service. Food was ok. Loved the French onion soup. Steak tips were ok but a bit tough. Sweet potato fries were excellent, not too greasy or too salty. Creme brulee was great!Overall, a very nice place. I would come back and recommend to friends.

Our family absolutely loves the food here! Our young girls love coming out to dinner with mom and dad when we go here bc the kids meals rock too! The small plates are amazing: the best Brussels sprouts, steak tips, & burrata you will get in town!!!! ??

I had a burger and fries. Fries were crispy just as I like them and the burger was perfect. Our waitress was great with no complaints. Not too crowded but a full house would substantially increase the noise level. TVs everywhere so easy to follow most any game of several different sports.Parking: Big parking lot right in front of restaurant
