Absolute best breakfast around! Staff and owners are always present and friendly. Food is consistent every time! Place is constantly packed but before long you are seated and greeted. I love the omelets especially! Fresh muffins daily also, need my road muffin ?

Traveled from Woodstock to meet a friend for breakfast. I am not sure I I would go out my way to go again. It took a while to get a waitress to come, and my friend had to go and ask for someone to take our order. The waitress was very nice.

Been here a few times and the girls working here are always so nice. You’re welcomed with a smile and free to sit where you please. They have a huge counter space and plenty of booths. The food is what you would expect from a solid breakfast establishment. The menu offers a good variety of egg dishes as well as your pancake and waffle staples. The omelet with hash in it is outstanding. The coffee is good. The waitresses are attentive. Parking is behind the restaurant

Food was fantastic. Very busy but worth the wait! The waitress was fantastic and worked around the limitations of available dishes and glasses. Overall it's a great place to eat and enjoy some good food.

Great prices and service! The owners are always there working and do the best they can. Opens early 5am. Great for when I'm snow plowing!

I have been here twice, and both times had me running for a bathroom. The staff is very nice but service is slow even when not that busy. The ham in my omelet was either the cheapest, nastiest ham available on the market or it had turned. The home fries were undercooked, the the coffee cups are miniature and only ever half-filled. Just go to Zips in Killingly or Bill's in Putnam - both are terrific and don't make your stomach hurt.

Day breaks Diner located in Plainfield CT... Worst service we have ever had. First off, the place was not that busy compared to other Saturdays my girlfriend and I have seen. We sat down and the waitress came over and asked if we wanted drinks. My girlfriend said hot cocoa and I got a med orange juice. The waitress walked off and brought us our cocoa and orange juice. My girlfriend and I both said we are ready to order. The waitress (1 of 5) said "I have to tend to other customers first then come right back." She went and gave coffee to 3 other customers, walked past us 5 times and took other orders, filled more coffee at another table and not once came back. We waited 13 minutes. The waitress could have taken our order, submitted it to the kitchen and then tended to other customers. I said, that is it, lets go, this is the worst service we have ever recieved here. Dropped money on the table for the drinks and went to Landmark Restaurant where we were able to get sausage gravy and biscuits. It's too bad, they are usually pretty good. Not sure we will be going back there again.

SCAM ARTISTS! WAITRESS DID NOT EXPLAIN THAT IF YOU MAKE ANY CHANGE TO AN OMELETTE, IT CHANGES THE PRICING. THEY CHARGED ME $18.95 FOR A VEGGIE OMELET WITH 4 ITEMS IN IT, AND 2 SAUSAGES AND WITH NO COFFEE OR ANYTHING ELSE TO DRINK. THE VEGGIE OMELET ON THE MENU WAS $8.19 WITH 4 ITEMS IN IT. WHEN I EXPLAINED TO THE OWNER THAT I ASKED THE WAITRESS IF I COULD CHANGE AN ITEM IN THE OMELET, SHE SAID SURE WITHOUT TELLING ME IT WOULD CHANGE THE PRICE, SHE DID NOTHING TO REMEDY THE DECEPTIVE PRICING TACTICS. I WAS CHARGED $2.49 FOR BROCCOLI, AND THE OMELET HAD 2 TINY PIECES IN IT. I WAS OVERCHARGED APPROX. 60% FOR THE OMELET. THE FIRST RIP-OFF I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN A RESTAURANT IN MY LIFE, AND I HAVE EATEN IN RESTAURANTS IN AT LEAST 15 DIFFERENT STATES AND 2 OTHER COUNTRIES. I WILL NEVER EAT AT THE DAY BREAKS DINER AGAIN, OR RECOMMEND IT TO ANYBODY ELSE! THE ONLY POSITIVE THINK I CAN SAY ABOUT THE PLACE IS THAT IT WAS CLEAN.
