About Hank's Dairy Bar

Hank's Dairy Bar is a beloved institution in Plainfield, CT, serving delicious food since 1957. This iconic eatery is a must-visit for its consistently great food, including mouthwatering burgers, lobster rolls, whole belly clams, and heavenly clam cakes and chowder. The soft serve ice cream is a particular highlight, with many customers recommending the dipped cones. The roadside dairy bar features a little game room, picnic tables, and a playground in the back, making it a family-friendly spot. The outdoor dining area on its four-acre property provides a charming setting with picnic tables and occasional live music, perfect for families. The nostalgic car dining experience and special events like Backyard Car Cruises add to the charm. Customers often praise the friendly staff and the clean atmosphere, including clean porter potties. Some reviews mention that the clam cakes and clam fritters are good, though a few found the clam cakes over salted and less clam-filled. Overall, Hank's Dairy Bar remains a popular place with quick-moving lines and good service, a true New England staple worth trying.

Took over 1 hr just to get food. Need speed em up all it was hot dog. Fried clam strips milk shake. Coke not same place anymore

Overall a very popular place, lines moved quickly and service was good. I just wanted some clam cakes. Small order was ample and fresh. However, they were way over salted and not a lot of clams. Probably wouldn’t get them again, but would try something else.

went to hanks for the first time in about 4 years, my order was completely wrong...its pretty hard to mess up ice cream but it wasn't even busy
