Made reservations a few weeks out to ensure I was able to get a table for my 40th birthday dinner and my dads 65th dinner. Called and followed up after making the reservation to speak to someone about ordering desserts to celebrate and ensured not a problem. We were promptly sat. We had a party size change it was not an issue. However the rest of the meal was off the rails. We ordered drinks, soda was either flat or not the right flavor and took almost 15 minutes for drinks. Appetizers almost 25 minutes to come Luke warm at best. Manager came to the table after app plates sat on the table for about another 20 minutes to ask how our entrees were. Said don't know we hadn't gotten them yet. Instead of going to check the kitchen about them he kept on his table visits. After almost an hour and twenty minutes I find another manager about our meals. He says he will look into it. The original manager comes to the table to tell my dad that since he ordered medium well it was going to be a few more minutes . We finally get our food and it was stone cold dead and had been sitting in the window so we send it back and he comes back out with a micowavee plate and acts like it's our fault when I tell him it's too late it had been too long at that point. They comped the check. Upon checking with the waitress on our way out I ask if they ever told her we were celebrating my 40th and my dad's 65th she said there was zero communication. MOD both made very poor chances to try to recover. If your using OT and your making your room and notice a table isn't on entrees after 60 minutes let alone 100 you obviously have much bigger issues. Really crappy experience after “one of the best rated in the area” after an hour drive away.

A great place to eat with friendly staff and excellent food. Huge menu and great barbecue. We go at least a few times a year in a large group and share everything because it's all so good. A family favorite and great specials and drink menu as well

Our group of 10 from the Ri Corvette Club returned to The Black dog Bar & Grille and had another great experience. Service was great and food was delicious and served quickly and all served at the same time. Highly recommend

Our group had a variety of food - burgers, the pulled pork mac 'n cheese, a roasted half chicken and the burnt ends with a side salad. The food was all delicious and the portions were large. It was a very busy Saturday night (loud inside) and the place was packed. Our server probably had too many tables to be attentive, but she was also not very friendly. It took a long time to get our food but like I said everyone was happy once we got it. There was no room for dessert but we enjoyed some jelly beans from the dispenser in the lobby when we left. I'd go back as long as I'm not in a rush. Oh, one more thing - you can see into a part of the kitchen through a big window and there was a cook with a long uncovered beard handling food (ew).

We are returning customers love the black dog, but this time was just a little different. The wait for our food was about 45 to 50 minutes, which is unusual for them. The waitress that we had was very scatterbrained didn't seem to understand that she needed to check in with her patrons once we ordered our food. Another waitress stopped by. She could tell that we were getting irritated asked if she could fill our drinks. We almost left without our food because the wait was just ridiculous this time and the waitress was terrible. We are not sure if we will be back as this was just something that turned our noses to this restaurant.

Always one of my favorite places to frequent. Call P has been our waitress the last few times we've gone, and has been amazing. The food has been great, from the prime rib to the pulled pork meal to the cob salad, which my wife loves . So happy we found this restaurant. Tom & Michelle from RI ❤️

We love this place it just clearly was an off night. Our food took forever and was cold when it came out. We were all so hungry we didn't say anything at the time. It was just disappointing but we will still go back again.

McKenna was our server. She was friendly and helpful. Food was fantastic which we had the Pot Roast Special . As always, Everyone is accommodating and friendly. She kept our drinks filled and stayed on top of everything. Great personality too! We will definitely return.

This was our first time here and we will be going back. We went for the BBQ due to a recommendation and we were pleasantly surprised. The pulled pork, burnt ends and half chicken were all delicious. Sides were very good too. And a must is the hanging pork belly bacon! We got the candied one and omg it was fantastic! We will be back to try more of the menu. Highly recommend you try it!
