We have eaten here several times, and have our favorites. New waitress, and she was terrific. I wanted to try a taste of the blueberry barbecue sauce, and she brought bit for me to try I had a BLT and tried the blueberry barbecue sauce with the fries. My husband had brisket, which he always enjoys. Thank you for a great meal!

Edit: After my review Black Dog reached out to me and it seems they pay attention to feedback and take these issues seriously. Everyone has an off night sometimes and the fact they took the time to talk with me shows they do care.
Made reservations for our anniversary. We’re seated right away upon arrival, although hostesses were not friendly and seemed bored to be there. Don’t think I saw one smile from the 4 of them we interacted with. Been here 3 times and have never had a comfortable seat. Seems like they’ve tried fitting too many tables into the space they have. This time we were in a two person booth on the edge of the Marley bar area. Very tight and small, not much room to move. Service was definitely having some issues this night as it took forever to be greeted. Then we ordered drinks with someone else before our waitress arrived a few mins later. Waitress was very nice but watching what was happening around us the waitstaff were struggling. About 10 mins later another waitress came over and took our order again. I’m watching all this unfold and the manager is standing there absolutely useless. First drink we ordered was awful and tasted off, we ordered another but still ending up paying for a $15 drink we didn’t touch. Drinks also took forever. Once food was finally ordered it came quickly and both the salads and the meals were very good. All the meats taste very similar but it is smoked BBQ so that’s to be expected, still good. I was a bit disappointed with the homemade strawberry shortcake, strawberries seemed past their prime but my wife liked it. Manager did check with us once but didn’t bother to mention our issues, if he was paying attention he’d be able to see what was going on. Thought it was funny that they ask during reservations if it’s a special occasion but never once mentioned the occasion. Overall food was good, atmosphere and service room for improvement. We still made the best of it and enjoyed ourselves but not in a rush to go back.

Very busy restaurant because it's so good. My red sangria came with lots of fruit and was stronger than any I've had before. The haddock was served piping hot with a light batter and cooked perfectly. I'm a cole slaw snob 😅. It was good but not the best but I'm picky. Fries were good. Too full to order dessert. Definitely make reservations.

We went there for a Baby Shower. All.of.our food was delicious, the staff were warm and welcoming. This was very nice 👌.
Food and service are excellent. Shannon was a terrific server. We were a party of 4 and she had a party of 13 right next to us and you would never have known that she was so busy. She was absolutely wonderful. The food was well prepared and and came out quickly and drinks and apps were also well prepared and served promptly. It is very noisy, though and I wish there were a spot in this restaurant where it was quieter so that we could have conversation. Booths or a more quiet area for those of us who are senior citizens and would like to have pleasant conversation over dinner.

Reservation made and line. Seated within minutes of arriving. Drink order taken and hot honey bread as an appetizer ordered. For dinner my wife ordered a salad with grilled chicken and I ordered a burger, nothing special. It seemed to take longer than expected. Despite this, will still go back.

Our server was excellent and the wine pour was solid. The food however, was disappointing. The burnt ends were extremely fatty to the point of being almost inedible. The BBQ sauce coating them was fine but uninspiring considering how many ways there are to makle interesting sauces. The carrots on the side were simple boiled baby carrots. We also ordered one of the pizzas which was OK but ther crust was too soft and no edge crust of any type. For a place that touts its authentic italian pizza oven, it was a bis miss. Sadly, we expected better given some other reviews.

Early afternoon meal,Laurie,our waitress was awesome. Fast, friendly, on point with everything. Food was great. We opted for a brick oven pizza,which was very good! All homemade( you can taste the fresh dough). We'll be back again soon now that we're retired and have time to enjoy our time. Great job Laurie! We enjoyed your company!
