After a day of antiquing in Putnam, wanted to try somewhere new. we opted for The Hare and Hound. Its a wonderful Irish Pub atmosphere with a very nice menu of both Irish staples balanced with typical Americana. i went for the Reuben which was stacked with thick slices of corned beef. The fries were fresh cut and the pickles are made fresh on site. My wife chose a staple of bangers and mash. This dish was accented with brussell sprouts. The service was exceptional as was the warm pub like atmosphere. Need to get back here again soon!

One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time! Everything was excellent! Our server, Julie (maybe Julia) was friendly, and just outstanding! The food itself was scrumptious. The pretzel was soft and flaky, and not super dense like other pretzels. The sandwich was full of flavor and the bowl was PACKED with deliciousness, everything super fresh.
This was our first time and we will DEFINITELY be back!

Best meal I’ve had in a minute! Inside and the patio both have great vibes. Julia was exceptional - made great recommendations and conversation throughout our meal. The pub pretzel with cheese and mustard was top notch; light and fluffy, perfectly flavorful. There is an in-house pastry chef who makes them from scratch along with a beautiful menu of desserts. The Melt sandwich and the Grain Bowl were fantastic! Great portions for the price. 11/10 experience, can’t wait to return!

Took a while just to get a waitress after we sat when people close to us were seated and served right away. The waitress though friendly got way too close to my face with the appetizer plate while I was talking to my mother. The appetizer was amazing we had the deviled scotched eggs, so good. My main dish was the Irish grilled cheese I made a substitution to have no fig jam on it but the homemade soda bread that had raisin in it which was not mentioned on the menu, I couldn’t eat it but the sweet potato fries were the best.

We stopped in for an outdoor brunch on a Sunday. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, accurate, and enthusiastic. The kitchen was flexible, and we loved the separate vegetarian menu and it's offerings (especially those veg nuggets). That pretzel was amazing. I ordered a Black and Tan and was prompted with several options on how to prepare it. We will definitely be back!

The atmosphere is great. Our server was decent. The kitchen had limited accommodation to guests. The presentation of the food was superb. The quality was just not good. Everything is basically inedible. We are disappointed. My husband wanted to stiff the server based on the poor experience we had but I told him that wasn’t the ethical thing to do. We only gave 10%. Even though the server isn’t to blame for the low quality of taste, we were left with a hefty bill. Also, $3.50 for a soda? Jesus.

Took my wife to Putnam last night to try Hare & the Hound. Great ambiance and a friendly staff, fantastic service. What blew us away was the food and drinks. We started w/ the Fried Gold Coins and they were simply perfect. For our entrees, my wife had the Country Style Mac n Cheese. I’m not a Mac n cheese person but I couldn’t stop stealing bites of hers. English peas and sausage pieces, truly amazing! I had the Tipperary Tips. Cooked perfectly, the chimichurri sauce was delicious and the mashed potatoes and vegetables were delightful. Both our meals were huge, enough to share and take home. Everything was very reasonably priced as well. Lastly, I have to mention the cocktails. My wife got a Cantaloupe martini, which I’ve never seen anywhere, and it was so good. I saw some other amazing looking drinks coming out, a spicy cucumber cocktail and a blueberry lemonade that looked mouthwatering. Such a great experience, can’t wait to go back and try Sunday brunch. Owner Mike stopped by to say hello, super friendly and chill. My wife said it was her “best restaurant experience in a long, long time.” New favorite spot. 👍🏻🔥

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit! The atmosphere on the patio was lovely, our servers were so engaging, and the food was delicious. As a vegetarian it’s sometimes hard to find good food in a pub or Irish restaurant. The potato leek soup and Cesar salad were delicious. My husband loved the. Bangers and mash. And the shamrock on my Guinness was the perfect touch!
